  1. Closing up...always a somewhat sad moment
  2. My goodness! Baffles me how you all manage to keep your working space tidy. I have a large desk and a huge dinning table to work on, but stuff always keeps creeping in to the point where I no longer can see the cutting mat straight in front of me
  3. Thanks! Not much to show right now Busy with the final touches before I can throw some paint on. Filling, sanding, filling, sanding, polishing, cleaning...stuff like that. Modified the drop tank a bit. Cut off the too short and unnaturally straight fuel lines and replaced them with brass rod. And scratched the tensioners on the centre band. Slowly getting somewhere...note to self: sand off rib tapes near the wing tips a bit. By the way...easy way to beef up the beules: Glue them on a thin sheet of Evergreen and sand off the edges. Give them 3 or 4 coats of primer (I love Tamiya rattle can primer)...rescribe seam...and another 3 coats of primer. This will be enough, no aftermarket needed More soon
  4. I like the Revell "Contacta Professional" ...the thing with the needle. Nice thin glue. Superglue....I prefer Zap
  5. I really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing
  6. I received both sets today! The decals look fantastic, great detail and colour and...Cartograf quality in general. Really nice these are not only aircraft specific, but the whole lot...stencils and national markings included. The colour schemes are beautiful, but sadly a bit small. Highly recommended
  7. Beautiful! just glued 2 of your wonderful eyelets to my 109, will make attaching the antenna wire an easy job
  8. This is such a winner! Looking forward to your Ju88
  9. Received some nice goodies today Eduard bf109E-3 profi pack Aber barrels for the E-3 Eduard Brassin WGr 21 rocket launchers for one of my 109Gs Eduard national markings masks for 109 G/K Dragon 110D-3 Revell He111H-6 Will keep me busy for a while
  10. I can't remember my first model, most likely an Airfix series 1 bag. I build loads of them. At some point my brother and me managed to get our own hobby room, a tiny room in the attic where we shared an old desk. Being the youngest, I got the side with the sloped roof above me.."you're smaller!" When we had to come down for dinner...or whatever...mum hit the antique Swiss cowbell downstairs. At first...no paint and an overkill of glue, but Humbrol entered our lives fairly soon and we raided the house for mums nail files. Good old days...my wife's nail files are still not safe!
  11. Encountered a small wing fit issue. The connector pin is floating in mid air. Don't force it down, this will result in a wrong rear edge and it won't be possible to fit the flaps. Best cut off this pin....and the one for the outer upper wing next to it. Replace with a stack of Evergreen to support both. solved Apart from this, I'm impressed with the very good fit of the wings and the way they build up. Good job Revell!
  12. Great looking engine...also love the woodwork! Something like a flying Riva yacht
  13. The Eduard Brassin exhaust With the PE exhaust cover Made the air intake weld seam from stretched sprue, drilled the guns open and increased the "cup size" of the beules. So far, so good I think. Some very minor deamons to slay, like the poor fit of the rear cockpit panel (known issue it seems). Only mishap...one of the two gunsight reflectors snapped off. Will make a new one I can now paint the wheel bays. I really like this kit, already looking forward to the G-10. With the Barracuda decals on order, I couldn't resist to check the box...new fuselage, new wing roots, even more rudder options...much better control panel decals. Sweet! More soon, thanks for watching Edit: look at the mess! My hobby desk is huge, but in no time my working space is reduced to the size of a stamp
  14. I'm strong! I keep my credit card in my wallet today. must be strong...must...must.
  15. bookmarked! must have! can't live without them! Still amazed there are no aftermarket gun pods and 21cm WGr rocket launchers, or maybe I just failed to find them The old 1/72 Airfix 109 had them! (yes, I'm that old ) Edit: just ordered both sets. I'm weak
  16. Finished HGW belts. Insert: made the missing starter crank hole (thanks to the great Matt & Mike review). Took me a while to get the hang of it. Not to mention the time I spend on my knees looking for runaway buckles cockpit ready...with the seatbelts and modified stick and Revi 16B gunsight. The red dots you see through the transparant fuel tube are the small red lights on the panel behind it I'll leave the open canopy tabs on for the time being...not sure I want the canopy open. to be decided. The Eduard Brassin exhaust, compared to the Revell version. Sure the Brassin looks great, but I still think Revell did a good job also. The size and shape is pretty good and it's doable to open the exhaust and the weld seams are easy to scratch I think. Not a waste of money, but when I build another...I'll skip this set. The Brassin PE parts are neat, but again...I can live without it. I can close the fuselage now More about my G14 adventures tomorrow...I hope.
  17. Thanks guys, I'll change the seat wear. Finished the gunsight and stick and almost done with the seatbelts....after some trials and tribulations. The HGW belts are lovely but it took me some effort to make them look good. I'm not good with tiny fiddly PE bits and they're coloured on one side only. Not a shake n bake job, not for me anyway! Treated myself with the Brassin undercarriage and exhaust sets (and a 1/32 Revell Uhu with Master FuG 220 antennas and HGW belts). Photo update this sunday I hope.
