When I saw this kit on ebay recently for a good price I couldn’t help myself. A Tigger Models Vacform (ex-ID Models) is very basic but makes a nice canvas for fun scratchbuilding. Having some Lancaster spares such as complete set of turrets come in handy. Further bits from the sparesbox and plasticard will help.

No rush, just having fun every now and then.

 Holy smokes, and us SIG Airwar '39-'45-members are supposed to provide the Xanax, AGAIN, I assume, mate?

  2. From the WO2VPR site:

I./JG 1 suffered its first casualty ten kilometres west of Hilversum. Hit by FLAK the Fw 190 of Feldwebel Heinz-Jurgen Kilian, a pilot of 3./JG 1, crashed near Vreeland. Kilian bailed out but his parachute did not open in time. Passing Scheveningen the next turning point at the Dutch coast disaster struck again. German Naval coastal batteries opened fire and the next victim came down. UFFz. Egon Comtessé white-3 crashed into the sea, his body washed ashore two months later. Obrst. Herbert Ihlefeld´s Fw 190 was also hit but he succeeded into belly landing near Rotterdam. Finally Uffz´s Heinz Bohmers Fw. 190 was hit. The exact crash site of his plane is not known but his body was found in July 1945 in a marshy area near Strijen.
I./JG1. passed Schouwen island when the guiding Ju-88 returned to base and Hauptman Georg Hackbarth took over and guide the gruppe, or what was left of it, to the next turning point near Bruges.

Thank you!  Actually, many of the early 'Mg-3's' were actually had  MG 42 still stamped on the receiver.  But I haven't looked up the complete rundown on the MG-3.  I image outside of some small external differences, everything is the same except that it got altered a bit to use disintegrating belts like the M-60 uses.

Heheh, I asked the question because I don’t know myself. But I found the notion of an MG-42 on a NATO vehicle amusing. Like having R4M A-A rockets under the wings of Starfighters...

The OBC dictates control , control at any cost .

And as many of us here are 'cast off ' from that site , how the f do you think we would respond to anything to do with it ?

If there ever WAS  a more useless non-productive thread or posting that NEEDS DELETING , this is it!

Well,... I asked a question because like James, I frequent both sites, couldn't get into LSP and thought maybe someone over here knew what was going on. That's ALL. Didn't think to have a look at their FB. Sorry about that. But aside from getting the answer that there were server problems, the thread almost directly evolved in frustrations that individuals had with other individuals ovah thah...

So yeah, in that regard, it evolved indeed into a useless non-productive thread.... I'll ask the Admins myself to lock it and/or delete it.

After I remembered that we're apparently forbidden to comment on the status and behaviour of other Modelling Websites.

Actually, under those rules should this thread even be here? Those who want information can go to their Facebook page

    S.

Never used to be a problem when I was a more regular visitor / contributor here, a couple of years back. So, what changed?

I'm not known for trolling or inflammatory posts, so if the thread is deemed inappropriate, no problem: :admin: it gets pulled...

TBH, I hadn't even thought of visiting FB. I was used to going from LSM to LSP and back together with a lot of other members so thought that any problems would be known here..

    Cheers,

    Erik.

Also did some research into the gunsight. Note that i am building the movie star and not a standard ha-1112 k1L Tripala. And also no typical 109G. So i was wondering: should i go for a Revi or QBI spanish gunsight. I watched the movie and saw that there was no gunsight installed. Only in the mockup cockpit closeup shots which showed a Revi.

This is the QBI sight (thnx to Espen Tjetland):

Here’s a shot from the movie. No gunsight in sight:

    Closeup mockup shot with Revi:

    Hey Jeroen,

Since you are building the movie aircraft, my suggestion is to finish it without the sight.

    Cheers,

    Erik.

Time for something new. When Italeri came with the 1/32nd scale I just had to have it. I got the decalset from Dutch Decal to make the D8063, a plane I must have seen when I was based at Volkel back in 1982. The pictures I found on the net are from 312 Sqdn, but the decals say it is in 311 Sqdn, got to figure that one out yet. It is out of my comfort zone, usually I build WW2, but it looks like fun.

Made a small start with the cockpit, progress will be slow as usual.

    Hi Rick,

Seemingly the 8063 flew with both 311 and 312 at different points in it's career.

unfortunately also the Trumpy one is ok, but has a serious defect which is a major part of the appearance: the intakes. http://www.zactomodels.com/

So, if Tamiya would just scale it up (since they apparently completely measured the beast for the 48 scale) we could have a Tomcat that is as accurate as the Corsair or Mossie they issued around the time Top Gun 2, aka Top Gun: Maverick comes out...

Top Gun 2 will only feature Super Hornets....

  9. If the inside face of the hatch is visible when opened it would have been painted in the outside camouflage colour. Museum exhibits often show opened hatches in the inside colours but those exhibits are most often partially or fully repainted since WW2.
