    New WnW GB!

Hey Fran, how long do you plan to run the poll for before announcing, and do you have an idea roughly when the GB will start?

    New WnW GB!

Rick, you going to jump in with the Greek Dh.9? Some AEG G.VIs were manned by crews of two for night raids - Fran, if the two-seater build is selected, would this count or should I be looking at another subject for that?

    New WnW GB!

I've got so many WNW in my immediate build pile that I'll participate, no matter which subject is chosen!
  4. It's true the price is good, but I got my shippig notice on February 10 and nothing has arrived here yet. I ordered Gaspatch parts direct from the company in mid-late Feb and those have already arrived so who knows why my HGW order is taking so long
  5. Lucky model has the Tamiya f4u-1a on sale for $85.99 currently, and also 10% off orders over $60. After postage from Hong Kong to the US, that works out to $100.37 for one kit. Works out to $111 each if you order two kits, so place multiple single orders if you "need" multiple kits. Corsair link: http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=TA%2060325 Make sure to use the promo code to save your 10% off the kit price: SS2015
  6. Triplane is also a very easy build, so sad that it's OOP :-(
  7. Wingnut has just added tech specs and completed cockpit photos to their coming-soon AEG page http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/product?productid=3094 To my eyes, that's the best looking cockpit yet!
  8. I amended my top 3 above - completely forgot about the Felixtowe and that's near the very top of my list!
  9. I've had no problems masking over alclad (unlike other metallics i won't name...) - just use a mask with a lower adhesive such as vinyl, if you're concerned, or do a test on scrap plastic first
  10. I've got a build thread going over on LSP and can report that yes, it's one helluva nice kit! Link is http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=52018 for anyone interested
  11. I just can't decide and need your help please - I have a Tamiya F-4 C/D and an F-4E, and cannot decide which schemes to build them in. With this, I call on all you Phantom Phreaks to help me pick which schemes! The F-4C/D will be using the new Speed Hunter sheet and the -E will be converted to a -G or -F specifically for the schemes i may do. I put this on SurveyMonkey so that I could post on multiple boards and track the interest; please make your choices on the 2-question survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/K25Y7XZ Thank you!
  12. Hey Erik, if you decide by to build the alley cat kit in place of this, I may be interested in buying it from you
  13. So far I'm on three definites for WNW kits (DH2, Fok E.III, and W.29) and should have my D.VII Seven Swabians done by then too. With a bit of luck, also will have the Tripe repainted and complete! May bring some non-WWI for laughs as well just so the poor kits see the light of day. What do you think guys... Trumpeter F-117, Harrier, Su-25, F-18E, Fw190 A5, RNZAF Kittyhawk III...?
  14. Yup, easy to tell who's really excited, or amused, by the new release!
  15. Come on guys, you know it's either going to be a complete Zeppelin in 1/32 scale or the imfamous Fairy Fruitbat! That Zeppelin... even the smaller early war ones were what, 500+ feet long? Basically park 5-6 HK B17's wingtip to wingtip to get the length, yikes
  16. I had a bit of a mess with my photo account online and these got deleted however all the pics can be seen in the review on LSP at http://largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=1099 There's a part 2 of the article you can get to from the link above also Cheers Mike
  17. And more pics. Note that the bulged canopy has only been very roughly trimmed, i can already tell it fits perfectly - classic Falcon quality vacuform.
  18. Well phew, the express build is done!, I can start taking my time painting this set and assembling as a full model now. By the way, i can sum up the quality of this in one word - Gorgeous. Floyd is finishing the instruction sheets tonight/tomorrow so he should be able to ship these sets this week. Here are some photos:
  19. This is going to be a build of Werner's Wings' upcoming 1/32 Avia S-199 conversion for the Hasegawa/ProModeler bf109G series of kits. Thank you very much to Floyd Werner for giving me the chance to build this ugly-yet-good-looking bf109 mod. I'll be building this quickly as these photos are destined for the instruction sheet in the set. So cheer me on if you want one of these sets as the sooner I get this thing done, the sooner Floyd can release the sets for sale! This conversion will be a very limited production run of 100; contact Werners Wings at www.wernerswings.com if you don't want to miss out. The conversion is designed to be used with any of the -G series kits as wing fairings, tall tail, and erla haube canopy are included. I'll be using a ProModeler 109G-4 for the build to use all (?) of the resin included in this set. So what's in the box? a bunch of resin parts, a vac-form Erla canopy and a vac-form bulged canopy as seen on later Czech versions of the plane. You get five marking options - three Chzech and two Israeli. Paint/decal guide is well done and the decals look great. The only difficulty so far is that the resin caster filled in the supercharger intake and cast it as a solid piece whereas the master was very well done and hollow. Options are to hollow it out with a dremel tool or use a standard 109G intake. Using a standard 109 supercharger intake will mean that you need to reangle the attachment so that it sits at the right angle to the nose. To see photos of the set and the construction, follow the link to the photos in my Picasa album. I'll come back and resize the photos for posting on the bulletin boards once the build is done, hopefully later this week. So far, all the major parts seem like they will fit nearly perfectly, if not perfectly. This is going to be a fun build!! Cheers for tonight, Mike
  20. I agree that the site is a bit dodgy, I bit the bullet and ordered from him a while back. Had no problems and have ordered twice more since then with no issues. He is a bit insane with some of the pricing, then again, he's rumored to be a bit insane anyway
  21. Hey Rog, Cutting Edge did them (see pic below), you can still buy them at Fine Art Of Decals for $18US. The site is the new website from Dave Klaus of Cutting Edge, selling off old stock. Link is http://www.fineartofdecals.com/goodies/132-treasures/, the set is Exciting FW190's #2, about 3/4 way down the page. If he won't ship to Aus, email me at mikeswinburne@gmail.com and I can get them out to you Cheers! Mike
  22. I'm frankly amazed that I was able to finish this kit, considering my lack of patience for all things related to rigging! Well here she is, Wingnut's nice little DH.2 kit, out of the box with EZ Line. This markings option is in the Duelists double boxing which also includes the Fokker E.III kit.
  23. Aw crumbs, I just noticed your Aces High Eddie pic... I was toying with adding that as mine. Maybe I'll go Trooper Eddie Petr, do you have an estimated release date for this kit?
