  1. Wanna hear something funny Mike? Could've swore I read an armor kit review written by you.
  2. Here's (only?) the older Tamiya molding. Used the Eduards pe set and Model Kasten tracks. Tracks are 96 links per side. 4 pieces per for a total of 768 parts for the tracks. I used 94 links the first, and as you can see you could almost tune it like a guitar. The last picture shows the 96 link per side trakes. As per my normal practice, enamels are poisen of choice. From what I could gather, Japanese armor was field applied by brush. Could be wrong. This was my first use of "Silly Putty" for paint mask. Keeped weathering to a minimum as most Nippon armor was not long for the worl.
  3. Aannnddd....Keeping up with my 11 going on 19 year old daughter. Lauries back doing cross country for UPS.
  4. Finished this last summer. Dragon kit. OOB build including decals. Hollowed out .50 cal clamp so I could "lock" it in.
  5. There was a shake up a month after this site opened? Daannnngggg!
  6. 2 of our club members are building the ZM Skyraider. Great looking kit.
  7. Mikey and John Lewis signed up. That extra 3 bills will buy a lot of Bf.109's!
  8. Piet! Can you repost pictures? Shot Kal favorite non Yank tank.
  9. So.........Mikey........Your saying you can be 4 large into this kit before opening the box?
  10. John-Nice job on weathering and as previously noted, angle of nose wheel adds interest.
  11. I remember a couple of years ago Cyrus Tan brought his exquisite Kfir to Valley Con and I wasn't allowed to photograph it because of a pending magazine article.
  12. OK. Now don't fly out here to slap me around. The M50 and M51 were not "Ishermans". Only the Israeli Sherman M1 was officially designated "Super Shermans". Israeli Shermans were designated by the type of gun it was armed with. M1 with the US M1 76mm, M50 with the French 75mm (French copy of the 75mm Panther gun) and M51 after the French 105mm gun. The M1 was the first IDF Sherman armed with a main gun larger than 75mm, thus called "Super Sherman". All others, despite what books, kit boxes say or what ever, are not "Ishermans". Just whatever type gun they were armed with. You refer to any later model M4 as that to an IDF expert or on an IDF model forum, you will be scoffed at. I can tell by this not being answered, we need more armor guys here at LSM. I will try to round up my "homies" start hanging here.
  13. Instrument decals are heaven sent for us older guys. Looks great.
  14. OK. Here we go. What is the urban myth on the Israeli M50 and M51 Isherman (Super Sherman)?
  15. Great builds and great pictures. Favorite was the first one. That 2 wing thingie.
  16. Greeaaatttt! This means I have to think. Give me a bit here. I will have one posted before sunset (California sunset)
  17. Swordfish. Yamamoto used their tatics on the Italian Fleet anchorage at Taranto as a model for his plans for Pearl Harbor.
  18. I would ask PB. I have had issues and or questions with them before and they have always gotten back to me.
  19. No no no Dave. No distractions. You have a B-17G to finish.
  20. I need to retire wealthy real soon, buy a 4,000 square foot house and just build big kits.
  21. If a Zero and a Bf.109 had an illegitimate child, this would be the results.
