  1. Currently building the Triplane as a first (must have bought the second last one!!). Pretty sweet kit. Good luck.
  2. I like building armour a lot...despite liking aircraft more, I think I'm better at armour. The Stug. series is a fascinating collection of vehicles and make for great modelling subjects. The only thing that would turn me off this kit is the thickness of the side skirts and the machine gun shield. All easily fixed with PE I suppose but after building a few Dragon kits, it's hard to go back unless Dragon just don't kit what you want. Having said that...I can think of at least one instance (Soviet JS 2) where the Tamiya kit is superior.
  3. Gotta get myself one of these...or two. Can't go past a captured one with big skull and crossbones painted on.
  4. What a classic old kit. I never built this one but my friend did back in the seventies. I'd be interested to know if you think the kit has aged much. Moulds tend to deteriorate over time and edges and details tend to soften up a bit. Still looks pretty crisp from here despite its age. Great looking build so far. Have fun! PS. Is that a block of concrete I see simulated in front of the driver's station?? I've seen photos of concrete used as appliqué armour. If so...Tamiya are well on the ball. Maybe this is new tooling??
  5. They sure do. I'm hopeless with single link styrene tracks. The friuls are beautiful...even if they are the same price as the rest of the kit!
  6. Another one of Dragon's great 'Three-In-One' kits. I love this one. As usual with all my armour builds, it has Friulmodel tracks. Not enough photos...maybe I should take some more. Thanks for looking.
  7. An old kit I acquired in a swap with a fellow modeller in Sydney some years ago. My first try with Uschi's wood grain decals. Not sure I nailed it but hey...it was fun. Have recently re-rigged the slack spans you may see in the pics. I recently loaned all of my WW1 birds to a local community museum for their 'Great War Centenary' display. They appeared in the local newspaper...no biggy...Tasmania has a very small population. Every single one of my models, including this one, was returned damaged, one beyond repair. They say they'll be calling me in April for the Centenary of the Gallipoli Campaign. The question is how to tell them to go to hell politely. Thanks for looking.
  8. The old Dragon Elefant kit without moulded on Zimmerit. This model has a Voyager detail set incorporated which was a great set to use. Easy PE that replaced parts that actually needed replacing of enhancement rather than just replacing perfectly good kit parts. The Zimmerit was made with Milliput and a screwdriver. Tracks by Friulmodel...I love those things. Thanks for looking.
  9. Forgot to mention she's finished off with a set of Friulmodel tracks which are tedious but always worth the effort. Cheers.
  10. Hi guys. Here's a model I did about five years ago. It's Dragons beautiful Three-In-One kit and it was a joy despite Dragon's busy and sometimes confusing instruction sheet. Critique welcome. Thanks for looking.
  11. I built this one as a teenager back in the eighties. I remember it being a heap of fun. Awesome tank Ralph. She a beaut.
  12. Never seen nose art on a Tiffie before. Looks fantastic. Lovely model Sir...nicely done.
  13. It's beautiful. Best part for me is the hand-print on the top surface of the upper plane. Great detail.
  14. Beautiful jouilling effect on the cowling.
  15. Umlaufmotor, I've been following your builds for some years now...on other forums and I'm so pleased I've found you here. Your work is easily among the best I've seen anywhere. It's an inspiration for me and I'm grateful to see your pictures. Congratulations on some stunningly beautiful work. Thank you.
