  1. I asked one of the admin this question in a PM and he suggested I post openly to get the thoughts of other staff and the member base. I wrote (rather am writing) a fan fiction story based on the Fallout universe and I wanted to share in off topic. Issue is there are some parts that are swearing heavy (F word and S word, no Lords name in vain though). Some parts there is violence, I suppose you could call it a rated R film novelized. Is it allowed to be posted as long as there's a disclaimer before the link that says there's foul language and should be avoided if you get offended by that sort of thing or is it better to not post all together? Could I also put it up as PM me for the link?

  2. Progress has been inching along EXTREMELY slowly. I've managed to strugle my way through a good portion of the mine plow I ripped off from the Trumpeter 5 in 1 Abrams. Detail is good but parts quality was a real mess here. A whole lotta flash and even more mold lines and ejector pins are really giving me some major headaches. I still have the plow blades themselves to go and I've been totally unmotivated to do any sort of work at all on them for the last week and a half. <_<

Got the headlamps done as well. More ill placed pin marks, mold lines, and alignment issues but I made it through.

And here's the first major test fit of all the components. I have some very impolite thoughts about the Academy turret and will keep those to myself. Let's just say there's reasons why a Trumpeter turret is sitting up there instead.

This is where it all comes together. Sadly it's been about a month since this photo was taken so all that wonderful clear space is obscured beneath a destructive wave of paint bottles, styrene, sprues, tools, papers, kit boxes, and only Lord knows what else. Since this photo was taken the oly addition has been a desk lamp with an organizer tray attached to the bottom of it I found in a box of stuff in a storage locker. It works awesome for hodling glue and thinner bottles and with three light sources now my bench is lit like the sun!

  4. I suppose they still are playing their Fallout I, II and tactics games, and keep on talking about how much better the feel was in the older games?

My brother is like that, but I try to ignore him as much as possible.... :P

Pretty much. I like FO:3 and NV to be honest, especially New Vegas which lends itself to my habit of writing fanfiction.

  5. If i remember Fallout 3 correctly, the infrastructure is hardly intact. Large areas are completely devastated, while others are standing,, but quite damaged. But remember that Fallout is an alternate reality, where radiation isn't a great problem, and where nuclear devices are used as infantry support. It seems that they have miniaturised the bombs, so who know what kind of yield we really are looking at.

Also, the height on which the bomb is detonated matter a lot. Both when it comes to radiation and physical destruction.

Best game of the last century. I might have enjoyed the sequel Fallout: New Vegas a bit more, but mostly because I needed a Fallout fix so badly. :)

Don't say that around No Mutants Allowed forums, might get an angry mob on your doorstep with pitchforks and torches. :p

  6. I'm in an argument on another forum about the game Fallout 3. Basically the consesus is if Washington D.C. were to be hit with 6 or more nuclear weapons the entire city should be obliterated, not the ruined buildings we see in the game. According to some game references though, the weapons used were high yeild neutron bombs with could leave infastructure relatively intact yes? It's my understanding a neutron bomb works by unleashing a particularly strong wave of gamma radiation and prolonged destructive fallout at the cost of a smaller blast radius and damage. Thoughts?

P.S. Any info will also come in handy for a novella I'm writing about nuclear holocaust.
