  1. Yes I have trod that lonely path. Open both doors and it vents a treat. I live in Canada though, so in the winter, the paint crystalises into ice and shatters on the floor before reaching the model.
  2. I'm thinking of building my own, so would love to see others designs.
  3. Loved the C.II since I built the Eduard 1/48 kit. The level of detail looks stunning. Thanks for an interesting and informative review.
  4. Really chuffed to have finished my first half-marathon. Weather was perfect after having trained in the snow and ice and very sub-zero temperatures. Even managed to knock about 10 minutes off my best training time, coming in at 2 hours 10 minutes. Going to celebrate by eating and drinking lots of 'bad' things.
  5. That is just ace! Like a tasty cod fillet. Nicely battered.
  6. Looks great Guy. My Dad is ex Fleet Air Arm and there used to be a Swordfish parked outside the Chief Petty Officers Mess at HMS Daedalus, where he was based. Fond memories of seeing this, as a kid.
  7. Thanks for the info Cees. I have 3 bottles of 'old formula' Klear (bought in the UK), but have varying results when using as a glosscoat. I would love to develop a foolproof way of using it (as I have the 3 bottles). Sometimes I just don't get the finish (gloss or smoothness) that I am after. Also I sometimes get a crackle effect after it dries. Have tried thinning with windex and adding dish soap. Would value others opinions. Maybe should open a seperate thread.
  8. That looks great. Well done for finishing. I feel inspired to crack on with my Biff.
  9. Unfortunately, neither am I, hence the search for an alternative.
  10. That's looking very cool. By the way, what is P+? I'm trying to find a gloss coat that works consistently.
  11. Dollar store reading glasses with one 'arm' fallen off.
  12. Nice review. Looks like a great kit. Scheme 2 would be the one for me, but feel I should do the RCAF bird.
  13. I like the yellow nose and cowls and red codes of number 3.
  14. So having resolved already to run a half marathon in early May, the training for that has commenced. As we are not able to get out and run at the moment due to the arctic vortex which has frozen Toronto, we are doing a daily Taibo workout in the basement, much to the amusement of my two sons, who have been warned on pain of death, not to post any pictures on Facebook. Modelling wise, Finish the Biff and a 1/48 scale Hasegawa Typhoon which is already nearing completion. Next 1/32 build will be the Revell Ju88, unless anything comes up via the User Review Group. I also want to build some 1/48 Spitfires (Eduard and Airfix) and the Airfix 1/48 Sea Vixen (for my Dad who worked on them while serving in the Fleet Air Arm). So hopefully achievable goals (don't know about the half marathon though )
  15. Having trouble getting hold of Solvaset and Mr Mark in Canada. Solvaset is considered to be hazmat apparently and postage rates from the States are a killer at the moment. If anyone knows of an outlet for the Mr. Mark products, then please let me know as I would like to add them to my armoury. Dave, thanks for the advice. I may have been too quick off the mark with the hairdryer. I think the decal is ruined so if you do have a spare you could send me, that would be wonderful. Cheers, Mike.
  16. I don't have any of those in at the moment. I may have to bite the bullet and sand it off if the Micro-Sol can't hack it. I should be able to adapt a roundel from one of the other schemes to replace it.
