Wow,
So having built so many of these Corsair kits, I bet you could do this in your sleep. Or at least with your eyes closed.
I'd be afraid I'd cut myself with my exacto!!! LOL I still follow the instructions and if I didn't I'd be sure to foul up somewhere.

Beautiful work, John. Nice job on the shading - I'm following for hints for my build.
Thanks Chris. I hope you find something there that is usable. 🙂

You should just buy them by the case. That has to worth some sort of discount.
The checkerboard Corsair looks cool to me.
By the case would be nice for sure! LOL
I'm leaning toward the checkered nose and tail one. Ought to look good!🙂

I think Tamiya San should give you some free shares of his company for your outstanding contribution to their sales of Corsair kits in the last 10 years, John

Sorry John
At times the PC and spell check just guesses and changes things that aren't even English.
It should have said: gorgeous. I corrected the post.
I was wondering!

I'm calling this one done. I think it will fit in okay for the GB. 🙂
Painted with MM RLM79 and White Ensign RLM78. Decals are from my decal stash. After market items are the FineMold belts and the Quick Boost spinner/props. Otherwise OOB. I hope you like it!

Looking good John I am getting there glass masked today and fitting the flaps tonight then join the wings.I am not a fan of the of the deployed slats I cut and fit tight one not so much but filler is drying as I type,I guess no weather in your neck of the woods?
Thanks Kevin. I cut off the little slat guides and then I can fit them with no gap. 🙂
We've had about 24 hours of rain but that's about it thank God. How about y'all?

I've been trying to find a source for these but, so far, all I can come up with is Tamiya's paint "names" such as Flat Black and their reference number such as XF-1 for flat black etc and no RLM reference numbers. I'd like to get some as I really like their acrylics. Can someone give me some info as to what color(s) are actually RLM colors? Thanks in advance. Confused!😄

Looking so good and you're putting me to shame at making any progress.
Thanks. I'm pleased with the way it's coming along. I'll give it some drying time then start on adding the decals. 🙂

Impressive build as usual John, I will use it as inspiration when I get around to building mine, but I doubt it will be built as fast.

Thank you Dennis. Be sure to post some photos when you do start on yours. 🙂

Tamiya 1/32 FG-1D Corsair
in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress

Current status. My research tells me that, starting in 1945 or so, the interiors of the Corsairs were beginning to be a mix of the older Dull Dk. Green and yellow/green zinc chromate with black side consoles. Since this one is a Okinawa bird I feel that will suit the model just fine. 🙂
