It looks promising, but one likes to hear about things from somebody who already has one about what they can fit, and what they think of the creation. Dustproof-ness etc.

To put if most simply, do the F-K variants all use the same propeller spinner? Are they all shaped the same?

Not really a big fan of Italian aircraft. The Daimler Benz powered machines look alright... but the rest... Just gimme some lasagne!

B-29: Big Shiny dildo....
B-36: Bigger, shiny..... You get the idea... some are just too phallic to be anything else.
Catherine Deneuve...really? I know the name and the face from seeing her in a magazine in the 80's... but really???

Now we're getting really esoteric!
G4M Betty to a double-ended dildo.
Can I say "dildo", here?

After some small talk, I'd say: "Peter... you're doing great work! Now where in the fuck is my Roland D.II??"

It all looks awesome! I know the plastic of this kit, and was enthralled with it when I bought it for somebody else to win. So, I've never built it.
Your work looks great!. In this scale decals are much better than painted blobs.

Sorry to bombard with unsolicited photos Ern... But this seems like a good answer for your question. This guy uses oils to give very subtle but lively definition to armor. On this one he used blues and browns to add visual interest. He's also inspired me to be bolder with colors and oils.

I like most of the Japanese fighters for looks even if not for their fighting capabilities. I used to play IL-2 Sturmovik online at a place that had historical scenarios and I'd always 'fly' Japanese if it was a Pacific scenario. My favorites to 'fly' online were the N1K1 and N1K2 cuz they were kick-ass and had four 20mm's. My proudest Japanese "sortie" saw me down three Wildcats with an A6M2. Usually in that scenario my Zeke was always catching fire. Yep... I was seriously addicted.
For models, I reckon all of the fighters look cool and I'll get to each of them someday. Most of their bomber aircraft leave me cold, though. The Betty had to be one of the ugliest aircraft I've ever seen.
Love this one:

I didn’t dream about it. She did. I dutifully set out to slay the offending marauder.
It never dawned upon me that tarantulas don’t climb walls around here.
And most tarantulas here are someone’s pet.
I'm trying to teach my granddaughter that spiders aren't interested in biting and eating her. Maybe it'll sink in. Who knows.

Got two going at the moment:
Trumpeter's Sturer Emil 1/35:
And Hasegawa's 1/32 Bf 109F4 in a JG 54 scheme:

Agreed. Half of everything was always psyching out the other side. Mig-25 Mach 3 speed runs, MiG-21s to half the world, Reagan’s Star Wars programme, it always worked, up to a point.
But I’d rather be playing mind games than throwing 147 grain pieces of lead at each other.
I’d say the Kalashnikov rifle is the best utility rifle ever built. The MiG-31 is an amazing interceptor, the Tu-95 is the equal of the B-52, An-124s are moving all of the world’s oversized freight, and Soyuz was, is, and always will be the least expensive, most reliable man lifter in the world. I actually admire Societ engineering. They made things that worked, not things that worked and cost gazillions to develop.
When the Soviets wanted to write on paper in space, they used a pencil, when Americans wanted the same, they spent millions developing a zero G ballpoint pen.
Oh, they've engineered some great things... but during the Cold War, their gear was woefully inadequate as is shown in many combats in the Mid East and SEA. The AK 47 has it's positive points... it's rugged for sure. But I think I'd still rather have an M-16.

Thoughts on the MiG-21?
Full AB takeoff, suck up the gear, and congratulations, you’re now Bingo fuel. Either tank or RTB.
Plus, it was, is, and will always be a CG sensitive little death trap.
But, I guess if you only have pennies on the dollar to buy fighters, the Soviets were once giving them away like candy. I suppose they were ok as a point defense weapon, if used exactly according to the book. Veer one bit out of book numbers, you die a flaming death or learn parachuting skills.
I’d rather walk.
We spent all of that time and money worrying about the Reds. Yet, everything they came up with was crap. Though... I'm glad we never had to find out how well their ICBM's worked.

You did a great job on that. I've heard a few horror stories about that kit.
It's not just the depth and width of the rivets. It's the ones that aren't perpendicular to the aircraft's skin that anger me the most. They look oval once painted.

Thanks Gaz, that pic would be well appreciated. The historic photos are very hard to read, because among the normal interpretation problems, Silbergrau changes it's appearance more than other Colours, because of the slightly reflective nature of the coating. Your assumption, that it was painted dope, is what I read too.
If that photo you mentioned is an actual one, it may help to interpret the right hue better.Cheers Rob

1/4 scale Albatros! Is that plastic, resin, or wood and paper?

The pfalz is a beauty! On Facebook I saw a piece of silbergrau trophy with cross that had been taken by an American airman in WWI. It could only have been from a pfalz. It looked as if it was painted with silver dope. I think the term “silbergrau” confuses ppl. I may have saved the photo, but am at work, so can’t check.

I'm building the F right now.... and the spinner just doesn't look correct to me. Sorry... it's such a minor thing... but it really gnaws on me.
