  1. Man, that is some amazing detail your doing. I need to get some brass sheets and try scratch building/rivet creating work myself. So, keep up the good work Peter. Mike
  2. Dave, thank you for taking the time and writing up a tutorial for us and I know I need help in this area. So, I will have to save it for when I get to building my WnW kits. I do have a question because i am bit confuse about the first part where you are showing us photo of fuselage with 4 different base colors. Are you applying all of the oil wash (Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber and Burnt Umber) to each one of the base color? To me, it looks like you brushed on the 4 tamiya base on the same fuselage and than its labeled XF-_ _ desert yellow, buff, etc, etc. Things are much clear for me when you starred talking about your technique is similar to armor weathering. I can see the oil color affect in the base color but it looks much different. Is thar because the oil color was applied over the base color that was airbrushed onto the part? Sorry for letting my confusion...confuse you I just want to be on the same page so I can use your guide correctly. Thanks for your kind help. Mike
  3. I just viewed my post with photos and they are still up. I think my account is standard since its free. So, I do hope you get your problem with PB fix.
  4. Ok, I'm late to the party here and going through what I had miss and voila......a beautiful B-25 that is just..wonderful. I wish mine can look half as good then I'll be happy camper. Mike
  5. Wow, that is one beautiful airplane and you did great work building her. I like the trick on how to line-up the wings. A new one for me Thank you for sharing it Mike
  6. Holy cow, this is a master piece. I love your weathering on this...the chipping looks...real. I guess, one last word to sum it up... AMAZING!! Mike
  7. That is one clean jet. Love the lines on that sweet machine. You sir did a great job.
  8. Now this is totally cool. Even though you have doubt about accuracy of your markings I think they are great. I love it.
  9. Thanks Dave. I was going to list it under Aircraft kit reviews but it didn't let me list there. So, that's why it went in tools and misc. Thanks for placing it in the right place. Mike
  10. Hello Gang, Few days ago, I received this fabulous little set in mail that has been created by ZactomodelsWe all know the fabulous items Mr. Wilson has produced to help us create flawless models. So, I thought I share a quick review with you all of his new product... Academy F-16CG/CJ kit has been around for several years and many modelers know of its pit falls. Though, there are several items has been addressed by the AM industry (cockpit, exhaust, wheel well), but no one has focused on its dreading intake issues...that is until now. Chris Wilson of Zactomodels recently released a F-16C NSI small mouth intake for the Academy F-16 kit, and soon to follow with a Large mouth intake for the same subject. It will fit just about every Academy Viper kit as I have tried it on three different variant produced by them, but for the purpose of the review I have used their original release F-16CG/CJ (item #12101) because several modelers have it. Upon receiving a well packed you will find typical high quality Zactomodel resin set. The resin set itself was flawless and smooth like a babies behind. One page instruction clearly shows assembly steps for those that might like to read...instructions. Although, its pretty explanatory correction set, but for those feel comfortable with it..well, there you. Major parts have molding tabs that will need to be removed before install and they only take few passes with a modeling razor saw. On my parts I used JLC004 Micro Saw (http://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/product_info.php?cPath=21_28&products_id=37. I tell ya, this thing cuts through resin like a knife through a butter...smooth. The assembly of the two parts is so simple that I can do with my eyes closed....with one hand tied behind my back...and jumping on one foot...well, you got the picture... it's simple! I did not glue the parts together for I'm not building this kit at the moment. So, the parts are held together by Scotch tape. I learned my lesson last time with that blue tape...makes the photos looks back. The Academy will require minor prep work and its completely covered in the instruction sheet. I followed the guided step and removed the tabs on the back side of the wheel well that hold the kit intake in place. Again, very simple step and will not take much time. A minor modification I had to do that is not mention in the instruction, that's because its probably my fault, I had to shave some plastic of the end tips on the inside of wheel well spine...the side facing forward. Afterward it made for a smooth fit. And now, the intake is in its place.... The fit is superb. Again, careful and precise craftsmanship of Zactoman pays off in the final result. I do remind you again for this review I did not use any glue and so do keep in mind that minor gap in my next photos will disappear after the superglue has been applied to the intake body. Front shot to show inside of the intake... In conclusion, this is a great set and will benefit every modeler that has this kit. So, its time to pull these kits out of your basements, storage sheds, or attics and start building. Will kit be 100% accurate after this resin set...hell no, but for a change it will be nice to give the underdog a chance to fight. It's simple and straight forward and in the words of Bob Barker.... It can be purchased directly from Mr. Wilson (http://www.zactomodels.com/html/F-16/F16_NSI_intake.htm) Thanks for looking. Mike Bhangu
  11. Ed, great blog. I can't wait to see update on the F-4E
  12. David, that is some amazing work. Your scratch building skills are top notch. Hold on their buddy...I better grab me a note pad and a pen to take some cool trips/tricks that you are using/sharing Well, you keep it going strong my friend...keep it going strong. Mike
  13. Great work Paul. That's a one kit I still need to get. May I ask...is that OOTB built? It will be totally cool if I can build it like your just out of the box. I'm getting tired of buying AF products. TIA
  14. Just saw this and since I'm a huge fan of Israeli Forces I better comment here...you sir have done a great job on this. Lately, I have been planing on some Israeli Dioramas. Currently, all I'm building is aircrafts so I'm thinking of A-4 and F-4 from 6 Day Way. Flying over a wreckage of a Mig or a SAM battery. Another one I have been thinking about is F-16A flying over a wreckage of a helicopter. A 26 year old IAF pilot made the first kill recoded in a F-16 by shooting down a Helo. At the moment i don't remember if it was Syrian or Egyption helo. Another one, F-15 making it's first kill and guess how made it??...Israeli pilot There are endless possibilities with Israeli military modeling Mike
  15. I say for your first resin kit and second LSM you did great. It's a cool jet and yours looks awesome. Mike
  16. Wow, she is lookin awesome in every update I can't wait to see those markings on her Makes me want to build a Cat now Mike
  17. Wow momma, that is one cool bomber. You done her good
  18. Dang, look at that...sshhhiinnneeeyyy. I like how the LG are turning out. Mike
  19. Johan, tha Cat is looking good. Your work on the Zactomodels intakes turned out great. I still need to grab couple of those sets. Anyway, great work and keep it coming Mike
  20. I hear you about the rivets. They sure can be time consuming, but if done right they can enhance a model tremendously. Especially, this size of a model. Btw, are you going to paint it with Alclad? Thus, the black undercoat. Mike
  21. Peter, your doing some great work on this kit. Of course, a brave man chopping up this expensive kit, but I know it will be even better looking with that sea hornet conversion. Keep up the good work. Mike
  22. Wow there Mr. CruZz, your doing some great work. I really like your painting and weathering skills. Plus, since I have this kit in my stash I'll follow along and learn a thing or two Mike
  23. Just saw this kit today at a friends house and I must say...wow. It's an awesome kit. I will have to get one for sure
