JohnB
This is a very interesting 1 & 1/2 hour power point presentation by Dave Klaus on Facebook concerning the above mission. Some "new" information is presented. I found it well worth watching and I think most of you will too. https://www.facebook.com/CommemorativeAF/videos/1169587800282319 1

Bill_S
I'll definitely watch it soon. I sure wish Dave would upscale his Tidal Wave decals to 1/32.
JohnB
I built a Hasegawa 1/72 B-24D using his decals. The Sandman survived the mission. This photo is usually seen printed backwards. This is correct.
Martinnfb
Finished it last night, thanks for sharing John, definitely some interesting info, I wish there was a part two describing in depth the political ties between allies directly leading to this campaign .
Administrators Clunkmeister Posted Sunday at 09:15 PM Administrators Share Posted Sunday at 09:15 PM These were some seriously brave crews, and the B-24 was THE ship to do the job. But the political bungling seems to have been astronomical, and the CYA employed post raid by those in charge seems mind boggling to me. A treetop raid using B-24s? That’s by far the worst thing to do with that airplane. It’s a high altitude strategic bomber, not a treetop raider. Plus, not having the RAF do their standard high altitude pre raid recce flights with their Mossies is absolutely unforgivable.
