JohnB Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 I've been trying to find a source for these but, so far, all I can come up with is Tamiya's paint "names" such as Flat Black and their reference number such as XF-1 for flat black etc and no RLM reference numbers. I'd like to get some as I really like their acrylics. Can someone give me some info as to what color(s) are actually RLM colors? Thanks in advance. Confused!😄 John 1

Lusitanian Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Tamiya does not make specific Luftwaffe colors. They have to be mixed.

PanzerWomble Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 God forbid....Tamiya's paint range????.... is somewhat in need of an update ????....heresy apparently !!! Â I tried and didn't get on with Life Colours John, I'm guessing MRPs might be easier if you are ok with lacquers and don't want to be bothered mixing ? 4

I really like Tamiya's acrylics and can only imagine how good their Luftwaffe and US WW II colors would be. I do a little mixing but prefer not to if I can find the color(s) I'm wanting in someone's line of paints. I'm not a big fan of Mr. Color but I still use it from time to time. The RLM 76 on the '190 I'm building is Mr. Color. 2
Peterpools Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 John As you, I feel that Tamiya range of paints, while I've used them for years, is just too incomplete. After switching to MRP and using AK Real Colors as a BU, I'm spoiled as all the colors are there and with MRP, I don't even have to thin the paint at all- now how about that for being lazy! 2

Question: When you do thin MRP what do you thin it with? Their "thinner" doesn't want to work and clabbers the paint. 1
Peterpools Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 HI John I'm a full believer in MRP paints and they are my go-to paint since they were first released. Almost never have I ever had to thin them at all but the few times I did, I just used good old Mr Color Self Leveling Thinners - worked like a charm.  2
