nmayhew
Thanks for the heads up. Re the JG51 book, I am slightly disappointed that aircraft with the distinctive weeping bird emblem are not featured more prominently, but these would probably limit the scope to Battle of Britain I suppose, which is not everyone's cup of tea. caughtinthemiddle
Thank you all for kind words. Nick, having four 'slots' I tried to put aircraft from different phases of war, so you have an Emil from BoB, Friedrich from Ostfront '42, Fw 190 from Ostfront '43, and a Gustav from late 1944; all flown by important pilots (even if Wiggers is quite little known most likely due to the fast end of his career, he's still one of the top BoB aces). As there are some decals for Emils with weeping bird emblem available in our line, I decided to put a Friedrich with later variation of this emblem instead (note the direction of the umbrella handle ). The emblem was still in use in mid 1942 (but not on all aircraft) and finally disappeared after the Gruppe got their first Gustavs and was sent to the MTO. Cheers, Maciej

nmayhew
thanks for the explanation Maciej, much appreciated; i understand where you're coming from regarding variety etc if you ever plan to do Illner's 109 with the lips smoking a cigarette and those MASSIVE upper wing crosses, let me know
caughtinthemiddle
OK, I'll consider Illner for one of the future BoB titles, however I also think about his previous Emil from early 1940 too. Cheers, Maciej
