Thought about my next project a little, and having done so I have come up with a diabolical plan. Having been such a crazy year, most depressing at times, I felt a go big or go home moment was at hand to finish it off. Why not Memphis Belle II and III?

Ok, found the G-set, but so far no Weasel missiles and pylons. And no F-set. They’re here, just need to dig ‘em out.  Also need to find a Master pitot, Quickboost refueling probe, resin wheels, and G-Faktor gear.

This might be doable....

maybe

So I'm not supposed to paint with my Oral-B??  Guess that's why my builds suck and my breath stinks...

I’m not sure your builds suck there, Mr Nats Champ!  As far as stinky breath, I don’t think it was your breath I was smelling....

Very colourful there Tony. And nicely done too.

I love some of the German philosophy of WW1.  We're gonna camouflage the wings and paint the rest of the plane bright red and yellow....

The color profile of this aircraft said the pilot had it repainted constantly to confuse his opponents.  So, a lot is speculation and different colors of different parts from different transition periods.   I used the snapshot from a specific time for this scheme.

Tony, you set yourself up for that one with the Oral-B comment.   :D

But yeah, Red and yellow make little to no sense if you're trying to hide from prying eyes.

One thing I will say, though is that how effective that German mauve/purple is at camo.  It's uncanny how that lozenge camo pattern like that will disappear in European fields. And in 1917, there were a whole lot more fields, and a whole lot less industry.

I didn't know that about that particular pilot, Tony.  Thanks for sharing!  Thank goodness for whatever got the Germans started with color schemes.  It certainly adds a lot to WWI modelling.

Getting close to the end of the holiday rush.

Orders still coming in and going out:

Crib boards are a standard now , rolling trays were a new venture and well received. Something to make from the smaller pieces of wood.

Also a year end clearing of sorts started , with a mind towards uncovering A Gotha .

And a feeling of the need to finish the model this year surfacing.
