Not sure at the moment Dave until I have the kit in my hands . I would like to make an F-15Aeporter conversion set for it, and by extension, a P-61C conversion set - Maybe even some doors. However, I am open to ideas (I do not wish to replicate whatever everyone else will be producing as AM parts).

Cheers

How about some exhaust pipes for those who want to have the cowl flaps open?

I think Wheels are/will be taken care by True Details and Eduard will surely up size there 48th set.

Hi Dave,

The missing exhausts are so obvious that I feel that someone must be mastering a set as we speak. I have to complete my B-25 wheels and tyres, however, I shall make sure that they will also fit the P-61 Black Widow as well.

Cheers

I thought - simply out of curiosity - that it would be fun to see how the main airframe parts of the old ID Models (Now Tigger Models) 1/32 vacform P-61 Black Widow stacks up against the HB kit.

It is generally fractionally larger than the HB kit but agrees very well in overall shape which is amazing considering how old the origins of this vacform kit are. I would give Tigger Models a big thumbs up for this vacform kit. My vacform kit will not be built as a P-61 Black Widow.

Big beast isn't it?

This makes it all the more impressive to me that an aircraft the size of the Widow could still turn with the best of them! (I guess very generous wing area equals low wing loading, which would have made it very manoeuvrable I guess).

Err, not a Mossie it couldn't!

Tee hee hee

Seriously, really glad you've got this Derek - cant wait to see you build it!

Is your Stuka stuff coming on by the way? (The Ju87 did look quite teeny compared to the Widow didn't it?)

Cheers

Hi guys,

Thanks for the kind (and amusing - Nick trying to troll me into a Widow Vs Mosquito debate, which the USAAFE pilots thought they won BTW ;), lol :D) words, much appreciated.

This kit will be a pattern mule for my EMD products, so will not be completed. However, I do have my vacform Widow and I do intend to buy another HB P-61 to build eventually.

The Stuka parts are still WIP Nick, so will come out with my next batch of EMD products.

Cheers

Derek,

Definitely keep us posted on progress of ANY Widow you build.  I am reading this begging the wife to lt me get one.  The 1/48 Widow was my first airplane model and I am thinking I was 7 or 8.  Horrible build as you might guess but it has a place in my heart.

Thank you for the post!
