I have even used it on canopies with no ill effects. Yup, Tamiya lacquer thinner as well as Mr Color lacquer thinners are both cool enough to not harm the plastic. However, don't use Mr Color Tool cleaner or Tamiya's Airbrush cleaner. Those both contain acetone and will craze/melt the plastic.
