Nope, it’s the same on both halves.

Ok it’s a bulge.

It’s actually a bulge followed by a depression .... Having done this kind of mistake, it looks like some f#@%-up 3D design ...

Yes that is a much better way to describe it.

Not sure if I'm going there, but I guess you could make some cross cuts in plastic from behind and glue some brass rod in to hold the shape.

I'm probably more interested in fixing this part.

Or is the answer to reduce this part?

That looks more like the solution... if you reduce the bulge, you will more or less align the rear end of the fuse with the opposite end near the cockpit ...at least it looks like it.

It’s not warped man, this is how it’s molded.

Finished up the grip on the joystick, even made a trigger button.

Looking good Ryan. Did you check to see if you can get a different fuselage from Trumpeter? My F6F-3 isn't warped like that. It's fine except for the improper shape of the rear fuselage that everyone complains about.

Well both side feature the problem, I think it’s in the mold.

Good news to report I can eliminate the depression and ease the bulge. The only pain was re drilling the rivets as I block sanded the fuse down. The deepest part of the depression was forced out with the handle of my razor saw. All this was done with sanding and bending.

Me too, the scheme will be GSB and was worried how the waist star would look with that wave.

Will see tomorrow if the bend held, if not I may need to make a bulkhead to hold the shape.

The funny part of this is I used a Trumpeter brand sanding block to finesse!

Just checked my kit and it has the exact same bulge and depression.

So thanks for the heads up.

It's definitely a moulding flaw. It's too perfect with regards to the rivet pattern not being distorted and it being in the same spot on both sides.
