This is very inspiring. I will join the others watching.

I finished a book last night, Heroes of the skies by Michael Veitch. Aircrew on the Halifax seemed very happy with it. Total produced 7176 + 2 protypes. Avro Lancaster total produced 7377.

It seems that both bombers are treated by the public with a BoB parallel, the Halifax is the Hurricane, the Lancaster the Spitfire.

I would love a well produced 1/48 Halifax, even a 1/72.

Good luck with the build.

actually 6176 + prototypes were produced.

After the bugs were ironed out it was a very good bomber.

Some more work on frame 7 and the early stage of the engine control box.

Total off-day this evening, where nothing seemed to work. I ripped off frame 7 as it was too shallow. But making another one didn’t work with knives cutting to far etc. Did manage to make a floor though. Oh well, next time better I hope.

Today went much better, apart from cutting and fitting various interior bits I made a start at correcting the area in front of the windscreen by glueing a thick piece of plasticard . This will later be sanded down to shape.

I think the operation is succesful and the patient is in hood health. It even looks like a panelline.

Teeny tiny update.

As the fuselage halves are so flimsy I wanted to make sure the wingroots gave suffient strength so I glued shaped pieces of plasticard into the root recesses.

These effectively serve as a filler between the root and the floor.

Didn’t have much time today but managed to make a start with adding the interior details with the frames first.

After doing some Christmas shopping in London back to work.

I built the steps leading forward into the nose compartment.

Starboardside done. I also made a ledge at the top to provide some glueing surface for attaching the cockpit transparencies. At least that’s the plan.
