One of my bucket list models..

All I can say in response is that I really, truly love these overlooked subjects and making a model of them. Short of a 20 year restoration process, it’s the only way to physically represent a long lost aircraft type

Looking forward to seeing progress on this one, Ernie. Amazing how a grail kit can move everything else down the list!

Yes it sure can. This and the Fairchild 71C were both scratchbuild targets of mine.
Both probably have just about the easiest to make structure imaginable. Square cross section fuselage and a tapered plank wing.

Rhe landing gear will need to be soldered from brass, I expect

I’m still pondering the gear leg design, there are some tough resins on the market that may be worth trying. Or I could just go crazy and design the struts without fairings and have shapeways print them in metal all nice and strong. Might be a good experiment!

Just got the gear legs and skis back from my friend who owns a higher end printer than I do - the clear blue is a test of a “tough” resin that is supposed to be much stronger. Strangely that resin is somewhat flexible but I’m thinking this is actually a good thing.  Ernie gets to make the axles and supporting struts for the MLG that connect to the bottom edge of the fuselage.

Ernie - this and the cf100 will be in the mail for you any day now!
