  1. Hi friends,

I finally managed to finish a work, which at first was originally meant to be out of the box, but after all suffered some major changes. If the interior has not changed on the outside was completely riveted. The brackets who support the engine cover were built. The only set of aftermarket  are seatbelts, made available by Radu Branzan, whom I thank. Fully painted with Gunze paints, RLM76 for underside and RLM 64 for topside. The entire WIP can be found here:http://www.cartula.r...100#entry191289

    Hope you enjoy,

  2.  Hello friends,

I want to introduce the latest model built by me for a friend. It is made almost entirely out of the box, with few exceptions (modified engines, other exhausts). Completly riveted. I used masks and a decal for badge registration group. The aircraft was flown by Ion Profir. Ion Profir was, perhaps, the best romanian bomber pilot, in WW2. He flew a He-111 H3 from the first to the last day of the war. He took part in the Axis campains at Basarabia, Odessa and most of all, Stalingrad. He used a new bomber plane fighting technique, turning his heavy He-111 toward the fighters that attached him, and so making them disengage the fight in order to avoid collision.
After the war he managed to escape from comunist Romania, with a stolen plane to Turkey. He died in Paris, sad as he saw the world not paying him the respect he deserved.

  3. Another project finish. This time I chose another plane captured. This aircraft, White 1, was the first intact soviet fighter captured by the Royal Romanian Air Force in WWII in July 1941. Cpt.av. Popescu-Ciocanel usually flew this "Rata" in mock combat against RRAF and Luftwaffe aircraft. This aircraft was destroyed in a hard landing in September 1941.

  4. Wow, that's very nice. Well done.

What are you working on now?

    Cees

    Hi Cees,

Right now, i'm working at another romanian subject: Polikarpov I-16 Typ 29 Rata, which is the first capture made by the Romanian Royal Air Force in WWII.

  5. Hello friends,

Another project ended well. This time I chose to do a  plane captured by Royal Romanian Air Force during the WWII. In the history of romanian aviation, this aircraft is titled as "MIG's Bâzu" because it was flown during testing, the most famous Romanian military pilot of the moment, Prince Constantine "Bâzu" Cantacuzino, who by the end of the war became the pilot with the most victories in the Royal Romanian Air Force.

In construction I used the following:

    - Montex Super Mask with conversion set for early variant

    - Aires Mig-3 cockpit

    - Eduard set for Mig-3

    Hope you enjoy.

  6. Thanks for the suggestions Dennis and Cees.  Unfortunately, the mid part has some compound curves that would make it hard to replace.  Also, with the windscreen also being part of the fuselage, a vac part would not work well for someone allergic to vac canopies like me :)

It's too bad replacement parts from Trumpy are impossible to get.  Looks like I'm going to have to hope the "canopy fairy" will show up with one, or I might need to buy a second kit to get the part. :(

    Thanks,

    Doug

    Hi Doug,

It happened the same thing, but was resolved. Look here, at post #29:
