FullArmor
Has anybody build airfix king tiger 1/35? https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-a1369-king-tiger--1260865 Is this any good? My know-how about king tiger and airfix kits is very limited. Asking because i have seen one on at a reasonable discount.
PanzerWomble
I've not built that one in particular, but all of Airfix's 1/35 armour ( apart from the Cromwell) are re pops of older Academy models . I have built the Airfix M3 Grant re-popped from Academy and that was good , I also have the M36 to build and reckon that looks ok too . No reason to think the Airfix KT will not be good as well . The KT looks like it has link and length tracks which is nicer than rubber ones, and easier than individual links . I have built a few KTs , the Meng and Hobbyboss are both really good in my opinion , the Tamiya can also build into a nice model with a bit of thought. If you can pick it up cheap the Airfix is probably good value but if you are paying 30-40 Euros there is probably better ones to buy would be my observation ? Here is my panzer next to Dollinger's a few years ago ... Hals und Beinbruch !

FullArmor
I do not know why but airfix kits are expensive in Finland. That's why I haven't bought them.
PanzerWomble
27 Eur sounds cheap . In the UK sellers were knocking them out for £40 -50 ....the two I bought were clearance sales for half that. Airfix tend to have a particular market esp in the UK with middle aged men who buy "Airfix" more than buy "models" and are happy to pay a premium even if the original maker's is cheaper . You can see it all on a particular forum I won't mention They appear to have done a bunch of re pops in 2020 ahead of their 1/35 Cromwell launch which wasn't recieved that well , so probably wont happen again is my guess. 1
