J-58 for SR-71 in 1/32 and 1/48

The engine is expected to be finished and ready for sale in November. Without doubt the J-58 is one of the most complex and difficult of our projects.

We assume that until modelkits of the SR-71 in 1/32 scale appear, this model will be a very limited edition only for collectors.

However, we could not refuse since the order was made by an important writer and expert on SR-71. We are very grateful for him confidence in financing a part of the development. And the SR-71.... is the SR-71.

We will also launch this engine in 1/48 scale to have some commercial output.

THE J-58 ENTERS IN 3D PRINTER TESTS

J58.webp

The J-58 enters at last in the 3D printing testing phase after 5 months of research and design. The design is 90% waiting to check if adjustments are needed by the results of these tests before finishing it. Undoubtedly the most complex design we have faced because of the intricacy of its machinery. We believe that the result will be exceptional.

We want it to be ready for sale this December as the level of detail that we have addressed has caused delays. We’ll try to hurry as we have many new releases pending such as the J-79 for the F-104A that was postponed to begin the works with the J-58 under commissioning, and a new range of accessories for the Mirage IIIE. But we cannot reduce the times in exchange for a lower quality. So the rest of the models will have to wait until the end of December or January.
