JohnAA Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Afternoon All, Trying to get this one finished, started months ago and diverted away as usual. Have got tracks on and all the armour plates this afternoon, used a dark green primer and Mig faded Sinai grey, just getting ready to start some washes, weathering and get some pigments on the tracks.Few bits of detail to add to guns, aerials and some bits of equipment to add as stowage. Enjoyed the build, reactive armour a good puzzle to work out the fit - have just noticed I've lost a hatch spring, will have to wind a replacement. Regards John 4
FullArmor Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Looking good👍 The weapons look especially good. Interesting to see what this will be like. I built Nagmacho myself. 2
JohnAA Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 Thanks for looking, went a bit heavy on Windsor and Newton brown oil and white spirit wash, started whacking on some pigments, sprayed matt varnish and... the tracks were on the wrong way! Smacking of forehead was followed by sorting out this little problem, fortunately I had cheated a bit and tacked them on with CA, and I haven't tracked the areas you can't see. I have done on previous projects, but life's too short and I have too many unfinished kits on the go. Now working on glazing, finishing machine guns and playing with stowage. Have applied some decals but they are very shiny and not the best, seem to break easily, might hand paint if I get really fed up with them. Finally, have some very fine chain from a ship project for the armour plates, guaranteed to give me eye strain. Edit - have looked at some colour photos of Nags, trying to get dust and dirt colours to some sort of Ok representation, not sure if succeeding just yet. Some are very orange, others more muddy-looking, so will keep on and try to get it looking a bit more uniform. 3
JohnAA Posted Friday at 12:57 PM Author Posted Friday at 12:57 PM Afternoon, Many thanks, little bit of progress with glazing, replaced hatch spring, messing with stowage, one armour chain in place and some general touching up of paintwork. To do list - smoke grenade covers - one is WIP and needs some texturing, exhaust stains, more armour chains - will spray before fitting, they are reluctant to take paint. Might add a few boxes of supplies, guns need to be more matt and the final countermeasures antenna with PE 'crown' needs to be fitted, it's a bit delicate so will leave until last, Regards John 3
FullArmor Posted Friday at 04:45 PM Posted Friday at 04:45 PM I'll give you a little tip. It's a good idea to install the rear antenna last. I mean, LAST. It gets damaged really easily. 2
JohnAA Posted Saturday at 09:20 AM Author Posted Saturday at 09:20 AM Thanks, have stuck the PE onto the mast, and sorting out the lights which I have neglected - the PE folds are the worst, Regards John 2
