1/35 Dragon 54cm Morser Thor - big chunker

Morning All,

As part of project 'finish off what I've already started' (see Nag posts), I got to grips again with Thor determined to get it done - this is the Dragon Morser Loki kit OOB with some additions of my own including cement to texture gun areas, ship's chain and some card to replace thicker kit pieces e.g. platform steps. All in all a good, fun kit to build recognising the well-documented limitations in places. I think I'm going to call it a day here for the moment, I do want to finish the driver's end a bit more because photos emphasis the lack of finish, there's some dodgy PE and a seam that needs sorting. You can't really appreciate the size of this thing from the photos, but it took plenty of paint and was sprayed in sections, gun, mounting and tractor. I did consider aftermarket tracks, but I try not to overspend and I think they are a good approximation. Hand painted Thor name (decals were really poor and cracked when moving off carrier paper), will wait for paint to cure a bit more and see how it looks, might need a little more blending in around edges where colour is not quite right as you can see. Might put into a diorama, but will prob keep for a bit and sell on on eB&y later. Thanks for looking,

Very nice. You have created a nice variation in color, otherwise in a monochrome color scheme.👍
