A little more progress, I dread trying to fit the top wing assembly after all this time spent😵💫 pleased with the paint job. no weathering.flat clearkote to wing then on to strut airbrushing.

it is official , I am obsessed with building this really annoying model😁
-
a bit more progress, I used gaspatch 1:32 resin turnbuckles with Wapsi small size micro tubing found at fly fishing store also .178mm leader fishing line.turnbuckles look pretty good? somewhat fragile.constructive criticism welcome🫣 airbrushing skills seem to be getting better.

whats the difference between replenishing agent and their lacquer thinner? Gunze info is sooooo obscure
-
recent build with Tamiya lacquer paint, could have been just as good with Gunze lacquer paint. depends what color is more accurate for my project.
-
high quality paint, airbrushed with their lacquer paints, very durable, as good as Tamiya acrylic with Tamiya lacquer thinner. hand brushes well with Gunze lacquer thinner or their Mr leveling thinner. they also sell a separate lacquer paint retarder. Why no airbrushing?

have not accomplished much since last post, camo nearly done. I am so worried about botching up the upper wing strut assembly, what a difficult model this is😵💫 decided to use Tamiya acrylic paint with lacquer thinner, not confident in using an unfamiliar paint that being AK interactive AFV acrylic paint.Too bad about AK as the colors are most similar to original WW1 colors.

I learn something new everyday! thank you.

what do you mean "pin the struts" how? drilling and inserting micro tubes?
-
Further progress, I am certainly not the best model builder by any means🫤 the camo on the elavator is not perfect, need slight touchup. Very difficult to cut the pattern with an Excel swivel blade, gotta use a new blade frequently. Thanks to everyone for helping me. Camo almost finished, I cringe at the thought of airbrushing the top wing black camo😵💫 I may just skip it, its so prominent.

I was a bit confused on the advice given on struts, "pinning"the struts versus scratch building the struts, clear to me now?. I do not think it is possible to drill the kit struts and insert very small brass tubing (pinning?). the Roden parts are so soft and fragile, is this what is being suggested?
-
my rationale is that the bracing on the inside of the cabane struts would not be to obvious, I will not be winning any contests😁 I am fortunate enough to have the Super scale decals, this model is enough of a challenge.
-
been stalled out on the cabane struts , I do not think I am capable of scratching building struts that would look anything like the kit part. I decided to brace them externally. maybe I will fail going my own way.Airbrushing skills have improved lately, I am satisfied with the results. Thanks to all for the support. this build is trying my patience like never before.

flattened brass tubes? perhaps K&S precision inc. metal brass strips could be a place to purchase those?https://ksmetals.com/collections/strip fabricating seems like a good idea. Thanks so much for your advice. WNW out of business ,I suppose there are a few models left out there from other sellers. the other manufacturers you mention definitely interest me. what was your source for the brass strips?
