Hi there.
I've just joined LSM and thought I'd post some pictures of a PCM Spitfire Mk IX. It was a short run injection moulded kit. I felt that externally it was as accurate as the latter Tamiya kit. Obviously the Tamiya kit has whistle's and bells and is superb. PCM's kit has a superb resin and etch cockpit which is very nice indeed. My photo's don't quite catch how good the cockpit is.
I really enjoyed making this kit and I think it's turned out quite well. It won a prize at the Combat Stress art display. Apparently it was the first model kit to do so. I donated the kit in a dustcover to Combat Stress.
In large scale, I like to model aircraft in 1/32nd and 1/24th scales, as I can still see the details I want to paint. With Armour it's 1/35th the whole way. Outside of those scales I build 1/72nd, as long as it's large! So in the stash I have the V-Bombers, a B-36 and a 1/72 U-boat VII and IX. I'm only doing the latter two because I was given a set of the CMK detail sets and I'm a sucker for kits with internal detail!!
Best wishes to everyone and happy modelling...
