  1. No bravery here - a hint of madness, with a touch of stupidity, maybe... Actually - I quite enjoy stuff like this - can be quite fun - I think it's called modelling! Can be very satisfying identifying areas that need work and then improving them - I guess I get a kick out of problem solving (well - sometimes...). Iain
  2. Styrenedemon - if any of my models/progress builds help inspire others then I'm chuffed (and just a little worried - in equal measure! ) Grant - I wish I had more time to spend on the hobby! I guess some things I've got pretty quick at doing with years and years of practice - but I also have gazzilions of projects on the go at once - so some are bound to be spat out as completions every now and then!! As to quality - don't think they're anything special - but OK to my eye - I'm an aviation junkie that would like to have a kinda 'history of aviation' collection in constant scale - just happens to be 1:32 Back in the '80s I used to bash out 1:72 vac kits in a weekend as review builds for Scale Aircraft Modelling magazine (built a Contrail Pe 8 bomber in 3 days!) - but bear in mind Connie has been on the go 14 years now! Nick - sure can - but not sure if I'll be able to add anything - I'm no 111 expert (or expert in anything - but I do enjoy researching and have a reasonable eye for stuff - I think). Iain
  3. At one point I did - BiG time On a roll now (hopefully) and Roy Sutherlands new open cowl flap and radiator set is winging it's way to me as I type - should provide final impetus. Busy re-scribing surface detail at present. Rear fuselage has had the upper window added and cross section corrected to a much more rounded/blended shape. Bases of the fins have also been fattened out with Milliput to blend in with rest of the units: Still maintain it's an eminently buildable kit at an excellent price. The ZM kit will be better - but more than 3 times the price - and I've already got the Revell kit! Iain
  4. Hi Ken, I have most of the PCM line - with the Re2005 completed and the Mc202 in progress - great subjects and kits that I've been extremely pleased with. One of the Hurricanes will be on the bench very soon... Oh - and my fave is the Mc200 Supply here in the UK has been a little hit and miss - and I have to say that ordering from anywhere outside UK can be an expensive business (not just PCM - but also Wingnut, Squadron et al.). I've tended to get the kits when I see them - usually at shows like Telford. Ta152H - wasn't aware there was a 'correction set' - don't suppose you have any left? Personally I think the 152 is OK (I'd never have expected an injected kit - and then we end up with two!) - a few errors - but nothing that wasn't fixable with a little modelling - and, yes, I will build mine. Tempest - any plans on the Tempest II? Iain
  5. As this build has been mentioned elsewhere on these forums I guess it's worth picking up where we are on this project. Started as an out of the box, quick-build, stress reliever - yeah - right! I won't go into the full background - that would take forever (and is covered in another place anyway) - but this is the latest as of last week - I may get some more done tomorrow - in which case I'll post pix. And this is my *interpretation* of a better looking UHU from the Revell kit - it looks fine straight out of the box and I don't for one minute expect anyone to go cutting up their kit just because I have! Nacelles all blended into the wing nicely and control surfaces fitted: And the nacelle before and after: Have fun!! Iain
  6. Thanks folks! Not the best images - but a fun project that's been running in parallel with some more complex builds. Hey Lindsay - where are those positive waves? Am sure yours will be a blinder - if you need any info I have a rather good book on loan to me at the moment that provided the scheme/details for this one. In progress - not a lot as the airframe was pretty complete when I got it - and I stripped previous paint with isopropanol. There is a thread over on LSP but will post some in-prog. shots (as few as there are) here tomorrow. Decals are primarily the Freightdog sheet - with aircraft serial and pale blue squadron codes drawn up in CorelDraw and printed on my ALPS. Paint is predominantly Gunze - with a smattering of Tamiya and Xtracrylix + Alclad. Weathered using oils, Flory wash, Modelmates weathering inks and MIG pigments. Still to add gunsight and seat straps. Have fun! Iain
  7. 1:32 Hasegawa kit (rebuilt/re-sprayed from previously assembled/painted 2nd hand kit). Some quick photos - will post some better ones tomorrow: Hope you like her... Iain
  8. Erm - I popped over here hoping to find a community where everyone kinda got on and worked together - helping each other out and not throwing rocks at each other because we have varying views of what constitutes a good model. For heavens sake - this is supposed to be a relaxing hobby - I see enough angst in my day job... Iain
