They done it for safety. There was no ABS back then if you had to stop all a sudden with front brakes you would lose your steering and couldn’t control the truck some people ordered there trucks with no front brakes or there was a air switch on the dashboard if you had front brakes you could cut the air off to them in slick road conditions it read “Slippery or “Dry” -

My Autocar has a 290 Cummins 13 speed no front brakes or wig wag but it had a bostrom seat. My dad and I restored it just before he passed away. I had the truck for 19 years -

Lee Drennen replied to Lee Drennen's topic in LSM Armour Finished Work
Thanks for the complements and the warm Welcome. Martin. This was my first tank and my first Tamiya kit also. I must say it went together very well all most effortless it’s a real enjoyable kit to me anyway. I plan on building another one some day I highly recommend you buy this kit if you’re interested in it -

Danny. Great job on the plumbing I ran these old 250, 290, and 350s a lot the fuel lines are very accurate how do I know I’ve changed a couple in my day I used to own a 1976 autocar it had a 290 in it and the fuel line was leaking right behind the engine block I never could find it till one day I gave it some throttle from outside The cab and it squirted out right behind the block so I had to change it you’re doing a great job on this truck. -
