swapilot Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I kow this is not really a post about Wingnut Wings or their outstanding kits, but here it goes anyway. One of my favorite parts of this hobby is the educational side that it brings. Researching a particular aircraft and unit of a model that I want to build is always fun. I have two books coming on the Salmson, however I really know nothing about French Aviation in WWI. Can anyone recommend a book that is currently available that will help me learn more about this subject? Thank you in advance.
swapilot Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Well I think I found one. It is called "French Strategic and Tactical Bombardment Forces of World War I". While it is not about all of French Aviation in WWI, as a former bomber pilot it is about a part of French Aviation that is near and dear to my heart.
Typhoonattack Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I'd recommend Nieport Aces of World War 1 by Osprey Publishing, as an economical starting point.
Typhoonattack Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 The SPAD VII and SPAD XII/XIII Aces books by the same publisher are also interesting reads on the subject.
swapilot Posted December 29, 2013 Author Posted December 29, 2013 Thank you!! Looks like I have some books to order.
