Tamiya 1/35 Jagdpanther Late Version build thread (1/29/26). Winter GB!

The German Jagdpanther Late Version (often representing the G2 variant) was a formidable World War II tank destroyer built on the Panther chassis, featuring a powerful 88mm PaK 43/4 L/71 gun. Late versions, produced from late 1944 to 1945, included features like a one-piece gun barrel, simplified engine deck, and sometimes lacked Zimmerit coating
It served on the Eastern and Western Fronts. During the last stages of the war, limited German production resulted in small production numbers, shortage of spare parts, and shortened crew training periods of increasingly young operators.

Complete step one constructing the lower hull, suspension, drive sprocket and ideal wheels!!!
I’ve built this kit before so it’s like revisiting an old friend!!

I usually paint road wheels after they’re mounted the vehicle hull so this will s a new experience.
Teaching an old dog new tricks, lol!!!

The build is just moving along nicely.

Looks to be a nice straightforward build like most Tamiya kits.

Indeed it is. I’ve built this kit several years ago and loved it so that it appropriate for our local scale model club winter group build.

As I’ve said this is a new way of assembling, installing and painting a lower hull suspension.
Actually I rather like the way the hubs are turning out.

After watching several YouTube University videos from Panzermeister36 concerning painting German camouflage and winter white wash I thought I’d try his method of assembly and painting. So far I’m impressed.
My prime color for the hulls and turret will be XF-4 (Yellow Green), XF-26 (Deep Green), XF-68 (NATO Brown) and finally XF-9 (Hull Red). The white wash will be differing shade of while mixed with tan, gray and blue sprayed over hair spray, my favorite chipping solution.
Stay tuned!!

Tamiya Paint Order!!!

XF-93 Light Brown DAK 1942
XF-92 Yellow-Brown DAK 1941
XF-88 Dark Yellow 2

Hey it’s not a kit, lol!!
