  1. I couldn't believe it as in my opinion there was better builds in the class
  2. Guess who's model took third place in the 1:32 class at Southern Expo yesterday?
  3. Thanks all Unfortunately there is only so many modelling hours in a week and need to get models ready for a show next Sunday.
  4. Plane built for the LSM Luftwaffe SIG 1945 Group Build HERE I needed a base for my recently completed 1:32 Bf 109G-10. Having an old plain base of a suitable size I decided to make it look authentic for late 1944 - Early 1945 So with some Coffee Stirring sticks from Macy D's and some Citadel grass Scatter, plus a few washes and pigments, I cam up with this: And with the 109 on it Technically it's not finished yes as I still have a figure to paint and add but here is what it should look like Thanks for looking.
  5. Hmmm maybe next year if there are some decals
  6. I built the German version OOB a couple of years ago and enjoyed it so though I'd have a stab at something a bit more adventuresome.
  7. So with the 109 out of the way it's onto the next project. Using this: And this: And this: I hope to achieve something like this: And so far, I have done this: I might decide to take a lot of the wash up from the floor as it looks like a squad for French Marines have just vacated leaving the mud from their boots. The paint work on the IP needs finishing along with applying the instrument decals.
  8. Well this is as good as it gets. Torn decals that wont settle, a couple that have silvered, one prop that was short shot, a canopy that I can't get to fit. All in all this ones been a disaster. I won't be putting this one in the Completed section, might do a couple of touch ups on it and put it on the shelf as a filler.
  9. Started this this morning and she is flying. A pretty basic kit, 1988 offering from Hasegawa and some 'gash' decals from the spares box. I think I'll have her finished by tomorrow evening.
  10. Thank you all, she turned out pretty good, I know there is some errors on her but the next one will be better. I'm indebted to James H (Jim) and his wonderful ADH book, next time I will try all the modifications he suggests. Right on to the 109G-10
  11. Revell 1:32 Spitfire Mk.IIa (Backdated to Mk.Ia) QV-K P9386 19 Sqn Pilot S/L Brian Lane and F/L Walter Lawson Kit: Revell 1:32 Spitfire Mk.IIa Decals: EagleCal EC#157 Paint: AK Interactive Sundries: Mig AMMO Washes, Tamiya Weathering System, HGW Harness, Aires cockpit PE & Wheels, Barracuda Oil Cooler, Top Notch Camo Masks WIP Thread: LINK I'm really impressed with this kit, Revell have done us proud for the cost. Okay I have thrown a few extra at it that tripped the price but I'm really happy with the way she turned out. My first time using camo masks and I really must thank Sean who supplied me with the masks and quite a bit of help in using them. I really can recommend them, so much easier than Whitetac 'worms'. The EagleCal decals were on the thick side and need a few coats of Mr Mark Softener to get them to pull down. I hope it was worth the wait and thanks for looking.
  12. Well not lot to show you as I'm waiting on washes drying on the spit but I have ordered a pilot for her.
  13. Peer pressure? What ever can you mean
  14. Okay it's going to be Yellow 2 as in this one Now do we know what wheel bulges this one would have had? I have both large and small just in case. Will be starting this one as soon as the spitfire is finished.
  15. Hi Cees, Don't get confuse by the title of the thread It's the Mk.IIa kit but I'm backdating it to a Mk.Ia Sorry my fault as I was going to build it as a Mk.IIa originally.
  16. Today's progress, more decals. Just the underside roundels to do along with all the little stencils, then I can move onto weathering. More tomorrow.
  17. Thanks Guys, today's progress. She's got her legs and the decals are going on. The decals are Eagle Cal and are very thick, requiring Mr Mark Softener to get them to settle. More tomorrow
  18. I can only wish to aspire to that level of quality. Wonderful build.
