  1. Okay, thanks for the advice guys. What I've decided on is HGW seat belts and a Mondex canopy mask. Now how do I know if I need the small bulge correction? Or is a case I need to research the aircraft i want to build? Maybe's are wheels and exhausts, comments please.
  2. Thanks Jim, been on a French kick for over a year now. Started with my Tamiya 1:32 Spit IX
  3. Good progress today, paint on decals started.
  4. Got a little more done today, fitted the canopy and masked it ready for paint.
  5. Not this time, I'm saving that and it will be in French colours but not as a trainer. No the two weeks I have off over Christmas is normally reserved for a 1:32 build. and this year I think it will be the G-10. That said what AM do people suggest? I'm going to add HGW seat belts. I'm not convinced the A.M.U.R. Reaver upgrade is needed.
  6. Interesting thoughts guys most people fall for the G-10 with just one person on FB saying the G-10 is more complicated? I'll look at them both later and see what I think.
  7. Well made up my mind what my Christmas/New Year holiday built will be, a Revell 1:32 Bf-109 but which G-6 or G-10?
  8. I've got one thanks Dave just never got around to replacing it and nobody ever sees the underside. Its the fuselage sides that are the glaring fault
  9. Wow, that is really good, if I can finish mine half as good I will be pleased.
  10. Thanks John, the engine is OOB as far as I can remember
  11. I built this one over Christmas/New Year 2011/12. The most expensive kit I had bout to date, one of the nicest and the one I was to make the most mistakes on You will observe that after following the decal manufactures guide without looking at my own references I have religiously followed the guide and continued the invasion stripes too high thus forcing the Star and Bars You will also see that on the underside I put the Star and Bars on upside down I have been minded at times to strip the model and start again, but left as a reminder to check, check again and tripple check references and not to follow decaling guides.
  12. Thank you, it was a spur of the minute decision to go with the French option, but one I have not regretted. Thank you, I to like the North African schemes. Thanks This is the one that awakened my fondness for French markings and aircraft. Yep, works for me as well.
  13. Built this one over Christmas/New Year 2012/2013. A great kit, really enjoyed building it. Decaled with OH Decals. I think, with the benefit of hindsight I should have added a light panel wash. Although I was pleased with it, imagine my surprise when it won 3rd place in 1:32 and above class at Southern Expo 2013.
  14. I mainly build 1:72 nowadays and the odd 1:32 and very occasionally a 1:48 or 1:144 airliner I have another Lynx to build, I thave the RN version which I will be converting to a French Navy version. It goes together great, just one joint in the engine bay area that requires about a 2mm shim to fill it. What you can't see on my photos is that I wired the sonar station equipment using lead wire.
  15. Keep looking at this kit at the shows and thinking hmmm. Seeing this one has got me thinking that after the next show one will be coming home with me. Nice work, very insperational.
  16. This is the last 1:32 kit I finished. I built it over Christmas/New Year holiday 2013/14 Yes I know Lynx rotor blades don't droop, and I could find a satisfactory way of modelling the intake FOD guards, that apart it went together well.
  17. Well I bet you think that it's a Fieseler Fi 156 Storch. You'd be right, and wrong Immediately after the liberation of France in 1944, the production of Fi 156 at the Morane-Saulnier factory was continued at the request of the Armée de l'Air and designated MS 500. Production continued toll 1965 after some 925 aircraft had been built. Started this old kit today and after about six hours work got it to this stage.
  18. Thank you but I wouldn't call it flawless. Thanks, whilst the strut alignment is easier the joint to the wings is nowhere near as strong as their Gladiator even when rigged.
  19. I was lucky enough to not only count Edgar as a friend but to have helped him when we was both researching K5054. We swapped notes (his was far more extensive than mine). Edgar was a gentleman of the old school and a man of a generous nature both with his knowledge and friendship. RIP Edgar
  20. 1:72 Airfix Tigermoth Finished as a Vichy French version serving in Indochina, decaled using Xtradecals
  21. This is the best review I have seen so far and great photos, thanks Jim
