But i would definitely like to see WIP build in this forum. I'm sure the kit will still be available once you've finished your current stash - then the temptation might rise up again 😁 1
Alan_G Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Back on to the Abrams topic - my copy of the "M1A2 SEP In Detail" book you recommended was delivered earlier this morning. I've only had a quick flick through it but there certainly appears to be a huge amount of information and references - so thank you for the recommendation! 2

Alan_G Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Wow! You must have immense patience to sit there and apply all that weathering and wear.....and it looks incredible 2 1

It needs a few fixes. 2
Alan_G Posted January 30 Posted January 30 If you don't mind me asking - how do you do your weathering? Is it the chipping/hairspray method, or paint etc applied over the Maston Ultra Matt Beige? 1

This is from my previous build warhammer tank: I am experimenting new tecnique to create worn and weathered surface. Just spray painted all black. Then automotive green paint over it. Then used brass wirebrush to wear off some surface paint before it dries. After that i will drybrush some silver, give it some filter and pinwash. Finished. Easy! 6
FullArmor Posted January 30 Author Posted January 30 I will try to do most damaged parts first when surface paint soft. And least damaged parts last, when paint is almost dry. I don't know if you understand what I'm trying to explain. 3

FullArmor Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 I removed 4 mm section and glued it in place. Also grille needed to be shortened. I do not know how trumpeter got this so wrong. 8
BlrwestSiR Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Nice fix on the turret basket. Definitely a silly mistake that should have been caught in QC. 5
Barry Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Here is one that will make you scratch your head?? These are the unaltered Trumpeter parts from the 1/16 M1A1 kit fitted to the 1/16 Henglong RC M1A2 kit. They line up perfectly! Barry 4

This picture has taken from other forum(look page 52). This turret basket has modified also. Cut in half. See brass pipe in the middle. 1
Barry Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I am sorry. I did not remember / or see that I had cut it to fit. That's pretty bad when you don't remember your own build! I AM VERY SORRY!!!!! I now remember why I cut in the middle. The end sections where the correct size so I removed the excess from the center to avoid having the end sections two small. You can see that the lower area of the end sections will no longer hold a standard 5-gallon water/oil/fuel can. Please continue to reference my build if it will help in any way. Barry 1
FullArmor Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 This looks pretty good now. a little bit of tweaking needed. 5

This is your build?!?. I can only say... Your build wip on other forum was my inspiration to tackle this build😄 Please sit down and watch this build. maybe I'll get at least partially as great a result as you. 2
FullArmor Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 There is one extra detail piece included in photo etch if you look closely enough😀 6
