B-17, B-24 & P-51C in Plymouth, Massachusetts

I was cleaning up my pictures folder on my laptop and came across these pictures I took last fall.  These three aircraft were in town during their New England tour and are maintained and operated by the Collings Foundation.  For a fee, you can catch a ride in these birds.

It is always nice when they come to the Plymouth Airport because they let you walk right out onto the tarmac and get up close and personal with the planes and pilots.

The B-17 is near and dear to my heart because my father's uncle was a radio operator in one (S for Sugar), which was shot down over Germany on 11 January 1944 after which he spent the remaining days of the war in Stalag 17B.

I wish I had more time to take more pictures but I will try again next year.
