Stumbled across this kit while surfing. The listing says it's a new tool. I've not seen anything mentioned about it, so was curious. Anyone have one, seen one, etc? It's an intriguing subject.

It's a good kit

Accurate in outline, and can be built right OOB if that is your wish

LOTS of aftermarket available for it - some more 'necessary' than others

The P generally saw action early Blitzkrieg and BoB, so no Trop, whitewash etc etc

I should be reviewing the recently released H version for SPR and I will do a compare / contrast etc

Do you have a project in mind?

Ask away and I'll do my best to help

Nick

Nothing specific. I was just browsing 1/32 kits to seen what piqued my interest to watch for at our upcoming show. You say the P wouldn't have been a tropical variant? I was actually thinking if I did do one I'd like to do a trop.

Actually, if you look at the following link the box-art is of a trop...have they mislabeled this one or something? Obviously, there are more variants out there is what you're saying? I'll have a look at those too.

This is odd...I'm doing some google-fu and all the stuff I'm finding for the P have a different image. I don't see anything like the image in the above link

It's a really great kit. I have the Promodeler release in the stash (which is the one you linked to) which is EXACTLY the same kit as the one a google search turns up and has better decals. I think the 1/32 Ju-88 might have somewhat better detail in the cockpit, but both are great kits. They're a little "different" than some other 1/32 kits in that they feel a little bit less detailed because of the lack of PE or tiny, tiny detail parts, but they both build up well, from what I hear. And as was mentioned, there's a nice selection of aftermarket stuff available.

Ahh....Promodeler...that makes sense on the different artwork. I didn't even realize they still boxed PM stuff. I'm thinking some AM for this one if I grab it. That nose section is wide open and the OOB details look good, but why not spice it up a bit. Hope I can find a deal on one!

.....also intrigued by the Ju 88

The 1/32 Ju-88 is really awesome. That cockpit is visible from just about every angle, so any AM put into it will not be a waste. The kit's detail is already really good, and it's definitely a step up from other Revell kits. I got both the He-111 and the Ju-88 for really low prices last Christmas during two great holiday sales. I'm gonna do something really cool with both of them, I just need to figure out what that is.

If you want a close-up pic of a part of either kit, just ask. Otherwise, there are plenty of really good reviews of both kits out there.

That aircraft was in all probability not a P but an H

Basically until someone shows me pictorial proof of that bird, I'll say they've got it wrong

You'll want the H for anything in Afrika

I plan on making a KG26 bird - the one where they took pics of the lion cub in the cockpit, with the shield and Latin inscription visible below 'vestigium leonis' - one of the iconic images 'Afrika' imho

I'm not sure about the H. The only H I've seen any mention of is in 48. I picked up the ProM P yesterday (I posted a box shot in the "stash" thread), and I'm liking the looks of the kit. The sucker is freaking huge, and if it makes it to the bench any time soon I'll have to hang it, so I may forgo the AM.

I plan to grab the 88 if I can get a deal I like next week.
