  1. Jeroen I can't seem to open your pics on this thread but did find some by googling telford & lanc... Looks superb. Only real concern would be how to store/display something this size. I recently received my WNG Felixstowe and was *concerned to see that once completed, it won't fit into my large display cabinet *as well as pleased to see that a "detachable wing option for storage" had been incorporated into the kit - though I'm not sure whether this work out with such a huge, detailed and (I imagine) ultimately fragile set of (rigged) wings but I guess I'll find out... Thanks also for the walkaround pics - I'll use the if this project ever comes to pass - right now I'm sinking into a swamp of unbuilt kits because so many incredible models are being released in 1/32 scale that I just can't keep up - I have the Tamiya bubbletop corsair, ZM Horten, WNW Felixstowe, WNW new Hansa-B, WNW eindekker, Meng commet, Revell Uhu, Eduard 109 (& Werners Wings Dubendorf conversion), big HK Dornier, Dragon 110 (& resin nightfighter conversion) - among others! - all lined up - what a great problem to have :-) Switching to 1/32 scale has significantly elevated the level of enjoyment & satisfaction I get from this hobby.
  2. Nice clean lines & perfect finish - thanks for posting. Hopefully the Gods of plastic will dictate that Eduard put out a resin "brassin" engine, gun, panel & firewall set (as they did for the new Revell 109). Seems Aires never did in 1/32... I'm surprised that there's been so little aftermarket "engine stuff" available (the limited Verlinden set comes to mind) in this scale for what must surely be one of the most popular subjects of all time? Will lookout for the full build article.
  3. Really nice! Fantastic finish. Wish there was a work-in-progress for this build. I have the old Hasegawa & new Meng kits in my stash. This will motivate me to get going. I'm concerned about the fit of the windows in the Meng kit though - maybe I'll try out the HpH set?
  4. Really nice finish on this bird! Can I ask you 2 specific questions about painting 1) What technique did you use to demark the (soft but clear) different colors on the upper surface (I'm guessing paper masks with spots of poster-tack)? 2) What technique did you use to bring out the panel lines after painting (maybe airbrushed "transparent smoke" or pastels)? Thanks Doug
  5. Very nice indeed so far I have this kit as well as the resin set in my stash I'm assuming you re-made the firewall using the kit part because the resin one wasn't a good fit? Also curious to see whether you'll make framing to surround the bay (?) I did one in 1/48 using the Aires set and the (perforated) framing was provided as an etched fret but that will be a challenge in 1/32 Looking forward to following this build, thanks for sharing Doug
  6. Wondered the same thing myself for a while ... Followed an amazing 1/48 build with interest - check out Me410 Promodeller plus kitchen sink on aeroscale.kitmaker.net - truly inspiring. Left me wanting to add a 410 in 1/32 to my collection so I ordered one. Mine arrived with a cracked canopy which they quickly replaced with no fuss. No need for me to post more pictures here since there's a great review on this site already. I'm a little worried about the glass nose and it's framing (?) - I think that and the canopy framing & joins (particularly the nose-window) will be the most critical factor with this kit. Wings/fuselage don't look like they'll pose a major problem. I recently built the big (mostly resin) Arado ships' catapult (posted a pic somewhere in the my cave/stash/introduction forums) & the resin is brittle, thin and unforgiving (IMHO) so measure and cut carefully, slowly & precisely. I also like the effect of Mr Surfacer 1500 on resin. I spray it direct from the rattle-can for an even balance of solvents, then lightly buff it out using soft, flexible nail-pads from a salon-supply store. There are very few pics of the 1/32 410 (either in progress of completed) on the net. If things go well maybe I'll post a few pics as I make progress. Several other projects on the bench first though. Good luck Doug
  7. Thought I'd take a few minutes & contribute to the forum since I enjoy reading others' post so much. I don't think I'm particularly technically challenged but didn't find the "photobucket-paste" setup as easy as it sounded. I'm shotgunning a combination of my office/cave, my display, my stash, my current models & and introduction all in one here. I've only recently started modeling and even more recently switched from 1/48 to 1/32 scale. The switch was mainly the result of the stunning Wingnuts kits & I can't say I regret it. Although I think I've made some pretty nice models, I (like others) am at least a little hesitant to post alongside some of the incredible masterpieces I see on this site! My cave overlooks our pool and is bathed in beautiful California sunshine most days of the year. I recently had a display-cabinet put into the office in an effort to minimize the chances that our (now foot-mobile) toddler would find one of my models stashed in a linen closet! As a result I have plenty of vacant shelves that now need filling :-) I'm currently working on a Hasegawa 109 (having started with the new Revell model but actually finding the Hasegawa offering a superior kit to work with - IMHO). Next in line are Tamiya's amazing big corsair, Zoukei-Mura's Horten and then Wingnuts' DVII & ambitious Felixstowe. Thanks to everyone to who posts their projects, they're a joy to follow. Doug
