I hope you didn't think me a pedant when I wrote that... But the simple matter is that Google is such an efficient search system now that a few choice words will find you almost anything you want...

The Masterclub of Russia track links look very nice....

    Matt

No, no, no Matt ... honestly!!

I appreciate any help in the offing (and pointers)!! ... Look ... I use Google all the time ...

Here's the thing though ... there have been times when I have completely overlooked certain sites or pages brought up on Google, simply because they look a bit dodgey ... I guess thats why I've never been scammed. However, some people have actually had experience with a particular site and can rate the owner highly! (as with my search for Heinz Bar decals recently or Nicks' experience with Masterclub) ... In the end someone elses' eyes might see something I don't, also.

I do try not to annoy people unnecessarily ... but if I can't find what I'm after on Google within half an hour I generaly ask those who might already be in the know - a handy resource! ... as I work full time - research time is at a minimum.

    Thanks again

    Rog :)

  2. Google Rog.... use the force...... :)

I too would wait for the B to come out... 50mm cannon, mortars, gun packs...

I still suspect that Revell will have this on their list of 'to dos' and, avert your eyes Rog, it'll probably come before the Do 17, though of course both a/c are at Cosford....

    Matt

    lol Matt :D ...

I use Google plenty ... but why spend 2-3 hours running through a search engine when someone else has already done it and can give shortcuts?? ... for me, sharing information is what forums are all about (that - and the socialising factor!) ... as I am happy to share anything that I uncover to save someone else some time!

I have to admit that, seeing it naked there in the pics, just looking at it - my first guess would have been "Revell" ... it just feels like the sort of thing they'd do!

I've given up hope that Revell will do the Do, lol ... but not the intensely, insane wish that someone will pick up the ball!!!

    Rog :)

  3. Both the Eduard and Dragon Es feature separate rudders already and as far as I know are accurate....

I am certainly not 100% but there is a difference between the 109F and 109E tails, whether it is in the rudder or the non movable tail I don't recall...

    Matt

Well ... I have 3 Cyber-Hobby 'E's already (2 x '4's and 1 x '3') ... plus 3 unbuilt Trumpeter 'E's that I didn't want to go to waste! ... although the G-2 is the next one I'll be building (Trumpeter - hence the rudder correction). I was just curious as to whether the correction would work on the 'E' as well ... I guess I'll order the one set and compare it with the current 'E' components before I buy more.

    Thanks!

    Rog :)

  4. 3 port Value for my airbrush compressor.. Just need to wait for my quick disconnects and hoselines to turn up from Pleasedshop.com

and Barracuda F4U Engine set Upgrade, Stencils and 3 sets of F4U/Hellcat wheels.

Sweet another package this afternoon.... and its my airlines from Pleasedshop!

Sweet!!! ... Love the airbrush gear! :D

  5. Btw if you want a 'first hand impression' of the Fawcett set, my review is both here and on SPR...

Nick ... already read it! (very good as per usual!)... The more the merrier as they say! ...

I must say though that my opinions were a little mixed after reading - accuracy is greatly improved in outline ... but I have never used a riveting tool!!

    Hey all,

Jerry PM'd me back over on LSP, and he no longer has any of the old resin updates sets for the JU 87. :(   Bummer!

Anyway, maybe I can score some Hasegawa parts ^_^

    Cheers,   Ian

Well ... I'm sure you'll find some AM gear around online ... I haven't looked, but e-bay, Eduard, Alley Cat and MDC would be a decent starting point?!?

    Rog :)

  6. Patience grasshopper.

... yes ... I will not try to bend the spoon ...

Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon - that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.

    Neo: What truth?

Spoon boy: There is no spoon.

    Neo: There is no spoon?

Spoon boy: Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

... I shall wait for the new tool Revell kit ... lesson learned!

    Rog :D

  7. Rog,

Yeah, I picked up one of Brian's correction sets.  I'm happy with it. :)

I built this Revell kit when I was just a kid (mid '70s).  I only did it once, and it was a war crime....

I always wanted to do another one, and I was hoping this time to do it justice...

Right now, Jerry isn't accepting any inbound mail, so I'll just have to hold off until I can contact him....

    Cheers,   Ian

Oh cool - thanks for the 1st hand impression of the 'Fawcett' correction!! ... I have my eye on the Trumpeter Ju-87B now that this is available! ;) ;)

Well ... I hope you can work some magic with that old Revell kit - a braver man than me, you are!

You might be able to post a PM to Jerry through LSP forums?

    Rog :)

  8. Rog,

This is is the ancient kit, but I was always impressed by the amazing surface detail at the time.

The tailsurfaces have large hinges that are meant to operate the rudder/ elevators, but are fictional.

The wing underside lacks the gull wingsection. The ailerons are very thick, especially the trailing edges.

It needs work but can be made in a good model.

    Cees

Thanks for the input Cees ...

But after learning (from another source) that this was NOT the kit that I thought it was ... I cancelled this order and swapped it out with a Bf109F-4 "Priller" Special Ed. I will wait on the new tool Revell coming later! :)

  9. Beautiful

And way out of my price league (saving for the Lancaster)

BUT if I did get one, it would be the later, heavy armed variants

I really think they have made the wrong variant here

Oh ... I'm up for the Lanc too ... when and if it arrives (hopefully before the second coming!)

Ahhh other variants? ... any useful refs you can patch a link in with Nick?

    Rog :)

  10. Wow! I didn't know this kit ever existed!!

I got a couple of 21st Century toys 1/32 Ju87-B/R's (suprisingly they look half decent! - considering they were only $15 each!) - I thought they were the only ones available (pre - Trumpeter) ...

Now that Brian Fawcett has released his Correction set for the Trumpeter kit I'll give this one a tilt at some point.

I hope you score the bits that you're after!

    Rog :)

  11. Ok fellas ... again, thanks for the input ... the overwhelmingly, most simplistic option is to get the Revell/Hasegawa Mk.I ...

Which is what I did, today, from Canada (along with a rare-as-rocking-horse-poo Hasegawa FW190F-8 ... my original purchase) ...

The deal was: I could pay full price for the F-8 OR ... buy the second kit - the Spit and score 20% of the total price! ... basicly this amounted to an extra $14.65 CAD for the spit - or about $15.50 AUD! ... Not bad eh?

This is the re-released kit ... which will need a bit of AM (Canopy, Cockpit, Wheels ... Maybe Exhausts & Prop/Spinner)

EDIT: After finding out much to my chargrin, that this kit IS NOT the edition that I thought it was ... I contacted my seller in double quick time and swapped it over - for a Hasegawa Bf109F-4 "Priller" Secial ed. ... I still get my 'two-kit-discount' of 20% with the Hasegawa FW109F-8 :)

  12. Hello ...

With the absence of a Do-17z and a Boulton Paul Defiant (in IM or Resin - in case some smart alec suggests Vac, paper or scratch building!) ... and - largely promted by research done to post on another thread elsewhere - my thoughts for a BoB Spitfire in 1/32 start to emerge ...

Mk.I & II options are acceptable (along with a & b variants of those). I know there's the Revell Mk.II on the way - but God only knows when thats getting here!

The re-released Mk.I from Revell (#00021 circa 2010) is readily available - and cheap ... a new canopy is needed (apparently) with a small dash of AM (office & wheels) and I'm told it will build up decently.

I'm no Spitfire expert, so please excuse me if I'm way off here - but can the Hobby Boss Mk.Vb be retrograded back to an earlier Mk.I or II 'b' ????
