Two vintage Tamiya kits today:
First; their British 25PDR. Field Gun & Quad Gun Tractor (Canadian Ford F.G.T)
(35044) in 1/35. This kit dates back to 1974! I was ten years old when it
came out. Never built this one, but I saw it in the Tamiya catalogs most of
my life...I saw it on Amazon for $24.00, and thought why not? An interesting
subject, a fun weekend build perhaps.
Second; Tamiya's British Infantry Tank Mk.IV Churchill Mk.VII (35210) in 1/35. I built this kit 22 years ago, the model long since gone. The basic kit
dates back to 1977. In '96 some nice figures were added to the kit; consisting of a "farmer" figure offering wine to the tanks crew and his cart.
The cart has a basket with more wine bottles (clear plastic), bucket, milk can, and lantern. There are also 3 British soldier figures. I wanted to build
a Churchill. The AFV kit looks good, but I chose this one for price, and the
nostalgia factor.

I was thinking to fabricate one my self. Scale up sprocket and create teplate with computer. Then trace it to brass sheet. Create new gear and add this to stock part. At least this is my plan🧐
Sounds like a lot of work!....please, when the time comes, show us how
you do this.....it would make a cool build thread.

Watched that video last night! Then I bought the Tamiya Churchill on
Amazon... Like I said I built this kit before...but now I remember it
was in 2002 not the early 90s as I previously said. I remember it was the 1996 re-release with the added figures.
Ralph, yours turned out very nice.. I didn't know that winter
camouflage was used on these tanks.

WOW, the kit looks great and hopefully you will be doing a build thread not too far down the road.
Thanks, I hope to be building again soon.

I think the same like Martin, that means, it´s a must have for me. CSM has lots of extras for the Garfold-Putilov as well.
I have to raise my hat for the continuous courageous effort of CSM, who not only produce off the trotten path objects, but to a very high quality standard. In my eyes, one of the top modeling companies.Cheers Rob
I agree, CSM is a great company. I am always looking forward to their
next release. I will always buy from them...unless they make a Spitfire.
Their accessories look very tempting!

This came today, finally, after some very sketchy tracking by my USPS
"Informed Delivery" account, It actually updated and showed that it was
delivered. No tracking updates for a week never showing that the package
was accepted or scanned! I was expecting to contact The Bros. Sprue about a lost shipment!
Anyway, from Copper State Models, it's their Garford-Putilov Armoured
Car (CSM 35009) in 1/35. This is one of three boxings of this kit. Mine
is the Russian service one. Anyway, the Garford Putilov was a WW I armored car built by the Russians on an American Garford truck chassis.
This thing weighed about eleven tons and had only 30 horsepower to move
it around! CSM produces a bunch of subjects that no other kit maker offers.
I like that, and the kits are very well done. I've been waiting to buy this kit for
some time....since it was announced.

Still awestruck! The details and skillful painting and weathering make
the equipment look so realistic! This is beyond model making
it's art!

I remember building a lightning years ago....I was building mostly WW 2
Japanese aircraft in 1/48 then so the lightning was a bit of a departure...
I just thought it was a cool subject. I think it was a Hasegawa kit in 1/72.
The scale also a departure. I'm sad to hear that the Trumpeter kit has problems, as I kind of had my eye on that one. Anyway, I'll be following
your build of this unique aircraft!

Paul, when will you be taking the lease out on the second warehouse for the stash……..that FT is not very pretty …….good haul……
Oh, I don't know, ........the rugged angularity of these groundbreaking
little tanks appeals to me! Actually, my stash is confined to a walk-in closet
In a small bedroom... admittedly quite full.

More items today:
First, from Takom, their French light Tank Renault Ft Char Canon/Berliet
Turret (No.1003) in 1/16 scale. I've been looking for this kit for some time.
The Girod or cast turret is easy enough to find but the Berliet turret version of this kit
with its riveted plate turret is not so easily found. I know of only one
place that sells this kit and its in Hong Kong! Anyway, I'm happy to have
found it. The kit comes with a 1/16 resin figure. Nice!
Also today, another set of Friulmodel tracks. This time their ATL-168
French R 35. I'm hoping these will fit the Tamiya kit. The Tamiya kit has
excellent link & length tracks that happen to be very tiny. I think it will
be nice to fit these tracks to the Tamiya kit for the added weight .

Today more Friulmodel tracks; their ATL-01 for T-54/55/62.
Purchased for my Tamiya T-55a. Always out-of-stock before, I found these.
Now, once again, out of stock at Sprue Brothers. The Tamiya kit is nice, but
I think these tracks are needed to bring out its full potential.
Anyway, more items coming this week.

Looks like it's a day for 1/16 accessories. My SOL set for the AHHQ Achilles arrived today too along with some landing gear for the Tamiya F-35B.
Unfortunately the SOL set is a complete mess. The quality looks very nice but the M2 is missing the entire breech/body of the gun. Upon closer inspection, the storage set looks to be for the M10 version as it doesn't match the box top at all. What's there looks nice but won't work on the Achilles. It's US equipment rather than the British stuff I need. I've contacted the seller so we'll see what they say.
As for the landing gear set, this will let one build the F-35-B the way it looks on the box art, with the nose off the deck and the front oleo fully extended. Should make for a nice display.
Sorry to hear of the mix up....hope the seller resolves the issue.
