I decided to do this build as Dean Hess's a/c in Korea using some left over Tamiya decals. I painted it with Alclad Duraluminum. It seems the ROKAF '51's had the red "no step" warnings on both wings and the national insignias were placed on the upper right and lower left wings unlike USAF a/c. Never had noticed that before! I'll have to clean off the dust on the windscreen now. I hope you like it.ย ๐

Yeah that will be easy could almost take some .010 stryene and melt in there with glue?
I'll use some white putty and sand it out.

I ordered this kit a number of days ago and it's supposed to deliver this coming Monday. In the meantime, since I have severalย boxes of unused 1/32 P-51 parts, both Revell and Tamiya, and since I didn't have anything on the bench, I decided to see about getting a head start on the build using left over parts. I was able to get a LOT done and will be able to have a nice start when the kit shows up. I plan to do Hess's "Bout One" ROK D-15 using some Tamiya decals, a mix of Revell and Tamiya parts plus a resin replacement tail. And I still have a LOT of unused parts.ย ๐

Coming along really well Gus. Those kits can be a real headache as I found out when I built the SB2C.ย ๐

I remember someone had a resin tail mod for the Revell 1/32 P-51D model which lacks the tail fillet. Can someone refresh my memory? Thanks!!

Nice one John, in fact both of them look great to me, I must try some day to build the Infinity 1/32 version lurking in my stash.
An impressive looking (if a bit odd) aircraft.
Cheers
Dennis
Thank you Dennis. I've built the Infinity model too and it builds up really nice.ย ๐

I wasn't happy with the original scheme on this one so I decided to do a repaint, etc. I think it turned out very well in the Royal Navy scheme.ย
