Standing in the garden literally 10minutes ago, the BBMF Lancaster flew straight over the top of me at 200 feet, the amazing sound of four Merlin’s, at I guess almost full throttle was beyond words.

With the 80th anniversary approaching, the BBMF are doing a tour of Lincolnshire to commemorate.

Having been up close to a Lancaster with 4 running Merlins, I know what you mean Phil. It's really an awesome sound and very distinctive.

Lived near Holmfirth 15 years ago , BBMF Lanc used to fly up the valley , over Ladybower Res and then turn right for Scamptom  .

My guess the guy piloting it was haiving the day of his life, and why not ?
