PanzerWomble
The 1976 classic war film is one of my all time favourites after seeing it in the cinema when it came out . I've been to Maple Durham where it was filmed several times, as it is down the road from me , and stood in the church where the Falschies make their last stand . I was watching again the other day and noticed a gaff ...a bright yellow Reliant Robin similar to the one as made famous in the comedy series Only Fools and Horses had been left in the back ground for the scene where JR / Larry Hagman charges the village. Once seen , can't be unseen Then & Now .....some shots around the 'village' of Studley Constable The same road The bend on the corner at the end opposite the church , the houses and shop were film sets erected behind this wall The Church is real enough The building opposite the Church is gen old but the waterwheel was added for the film , still there in 2022 Verry good ..carry on Nuemann ...!!
GusMac
Great film which brings back real childhood memories. Stellar cast and it made me read all the Jack Higgins books. I'll have to watch again now to try and spot the Reliant - certainly never noticed it before. Hope Del Boy wasn't working on their chandeliers! That one will be lost on most non-UK members. Apologies 2

Apologies Yes -I don't know if Del Boy was as widely exported as other UK comedies ......."you plonker... Womble !" In case you're curious Jack Higgins only died recently 2022 aged 92 .
HubertB
I do not know what is more anachronistic : the yellow Reliant Robin, or the fact that it still is on its three wheels 🤔 Hubert
