Steve Scanlon
So I sprayed several coats of gloss black on my Hawk and a day later it is still tacky, will this harden in time? Cheers.

Paulster
Is it humid there? Is so, does the Ms. have a food dehydrator?
Paulster
It may. Testors can take a long time to gas out, but it can also from time to time never quite cure. Is there primer underneath it? The ol' "Bad batch of Alcad syndrome"?
RalphSarc
I have to ask also what kind of primer? I used gray primer, let dry three days, on the Ju88 and Tamiya Aerosol Black. It dried overnight but my hobby shop person said it was the black to use due to its even self leveling properties and drying time.
Steve Scanlon
Thanks guys, Well I have to say it is very warm and humid but in truth it is probably down to my impatience and numptiness instead thin layers and allowing them to dry I put several wet coats down to soon, good news this morning I misted several coats of MR clear flat which made a big difference, tonight I did the same but with clear gloss and things are great now. Tamiya gloss black in the rattle can is the best there's out there, and I'm an enamel guy. I've known some modelers to use it to prime for Alcad because their, Alcad, gloss black can at times be a crap shoot.
BradG
I still have a tin of Humbrol gloss black that's older than me. It takes a day to dry but you can't damage it with a hammer.
Steve Scanlon
Yeah I certainly learned a thing or two and I have picked up a can of Tamiya gloss black but I was part of the problem, I have another all black Hawk in the stash and this one will look a lot better.
