Woodshedwings
Is it possible to soften miliput that has, over the years, become a bit stiff. I know it can be smoothed with water, but will water soften it sufficiently to be able to mix it. I'm talking about un-mixed milliput here, in case people thought I'd gone a bit daft.
Administrators James H Posted April 17, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 17, 2015 Have you thought of spraying it with water, popping it in a food bag and tying up, and then leaving somewhere warm? The humidity might soften it again.

radub
In the past, I had bad experiences with old miliput. What happens is that it breaks into small "crumbs" that do not mix with the other component and remain uncured. The result is a surface with with uncured spots that are impossible to process (sand/file or scribe). Personally, I would chop and cut away all hardened bits from each stick until reaching the soft core (if any is left) and only use that. If the whole thing is gone hard and brittle, I would not use it. Radu
Wingco57
I agree with Radu, Had some very bad experiences with that. It either wouldn't get hard again or crumbled and was impossible to sand (talking about Milliput here ). Better safe than sorry. Cees
