Members Mikester
Looking for information on the second aircraft, "Black 12", does anyone have confirmation that this aircraft had a tall tail?
Wumm
My feeling is no tall tail Mike... http://mab.forumfree.it/?t=70247302&st=15 Photo half-way down shows distinctive Erla saw-tooth wing camouflage, which tended to soften the longer production continued. If I had to guess I would put her in the 15xxx block, which is 1943 production and too early for tall tail. Best guess... S
Members Mikester
Thanks, Steve! Bummer, I like the tall tail with the early canopy especially with Italian markings.
Wumm
It's not an absolute though Mike... Just a best guess based on the wing camouflage. The fuselage cross however, is of the white outline only style as seen on some 412xxx / 413××× Erla G-6's... of which some examples are known to have had the square canopy / tall tail combination (Werk Nr.412951 for example). So tall tail is still a possibility... S
