Great build John 

 So I thought I would ask the ranking Corsair guru a few questions. First I have a Tamiya F4U-1A that I would like to do as Boyingtons bird. My question is what color was the rear wheel well area samon or zink chromate? What color was the cockpit? What color were the main wheel wells? Any other info that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ron. The main gear wheel wells were underside color which was white. The gear doors, main and tail, were white also. Tail wheel interior would be green zinc chromate as would be the cockpit. I recommend you get a copy of Dana Bell's "F4U-1 Corsair Vol.2" Aircraft pictorials #8. Excellent info there.
