  1. Some Progress.
  2. Thanks, Guys! The stack and mast are assembled. There are a few scratch pieces in there. Now for paint. There's a brass piece in there under the mast that wasn't there when I painted the bottom gray and hand painted the top of the stack black. I'm going to have to paint some gray primer then gray paint for that piece, unless I decide to hand paint that piece. Hmmm, I am using Tamiya paint for this one. Then from the existing black on up is black. That needs to be primed first. I did paint all the brass before assembly with Mr. Metal Primer, but I want to paint with paint primer too. The big thing will be wrapping a Post-it-Note to protect the gray and make sure I paint perpendicular to the surface. There are rigging lines from that broad piece in front, down to the deck. I'm not sure just what I'm going to use for that. I have some really strait wire that I used for rigging 1/48 biplanes, decades ago, that I might paint black and cut to length. And after seeing a posting on FB regarding signal flags, I'm contemplating adding some signal flags too. Need to search for the 'code' for Pharris.
  3. Thanks, Peter and Martin! Engines are together and painted. Most of the paint won't be visible, but.......... I also started assembling the intake trunks. I thought I'd see how it goes. I have the GT Resin parts too.
  4. Well, two more steps involving the fuselage, and I haven't knocked anything off yet. There wasn't much to those steps though. There's a little bit of putty needed on the top of the nose at the seam and a bit more on the left side along the radome seam. Those little air intakes are a bit fiddly. I didn't put the pitot on the nose though.
  5. More tiny stuff. The mast on the right will go on top of the stack. There's also more stuff to hang on the stack too.
  6. Thanks guys! Next step. The projection on the right is molded into the part. The antenna in the center requires an 0.8mm hole to be drilled into the part and glued. The Antenna on the left is glued to the surface. I'm wondering how long 'til I knock it off.
  7. Thanks, Peter! In assembling the cockpit area, it is necessary to make sure the parts are correctly located. This piece in the WSO pit, left side is just slightly out of place. Meaning I had to do a little sanding on the outside of this assembly and put a small notch in some of the detail on the fuselage sidewall to make sure the fuselage halves matched up correctly. It all looks fine though. Ready to glue the fuselage halves together. And glued together. The seats aren't installed yet, just sitting there. And make sure to watch out for the intake turbulence generators and whatever that small thingy is on the starboard side. Onward. Dave
  8. I figured that I may as well get started on this part of the project too.
  9. Okay, most of the cockpit is together.
  10. Thanks, Chris! The interior is painted MRP-100 FS36231 U.S. and NATO interiors. It's the color called out in the instructions.
  11. As a note for others looking at this thread, the Brett Green instructions correction list is for the Dragon C-7 kit. I have the Dragon D/E kit. You'll still need to do your homework. The first item on the list for step 1 has been corrected in the D/E instructions. The second and third items for Step 1 is still useful information.
  12. Thanks Carl, I found it.
  13. Okay, Z-M/RedFox 3D printed IP parts installed. First off, I had picked this up some time ago and this is what I used to glue the IP pieces. All the pieces are installed except one. The WSO radar scope comes in two versions. One is if you want the scope visible, the other is for use if you're going to use the scope shroud. I decided to have the scope visible. Don't worry, the black piece isn't glued. There are two items of note. The red mark is for the pilot's IP. The piece with the red circle is attached to the rest of the IP on the backing card and comes off with the main IP. It is printed to be able to snap out of location and be placed as shown. The Yellow mark, this piece has extra gray material which appears to be for the 'step' there, except it isn't made to snap off and I tried using my decal scissors to cut it off. As noted in the instructions, these items are very brittle. If you look at the upper left corner, some of it broke off. I'm not sure what holds the pieces onto the backing card, but flexing the backing a little will allow a tweezer to go under the piece to lift it off the card. So, I'll let these set for a day or so to let the glue cure. The next thing I want to do is spray some primer onto the pilot figures. Dave
  14. Still working away at the PE. The main mast and all its PE to go.
  15. I went looking on Hannant's for something for the F-4E and decided to add these for the Bf-110. I guess it's about time to get started.
  16. I've added to the AM pile. Should be interesting.
  17. Pilots on a stick. Hmmmm. By the Z-M instructions, the WSO is on the left and the Pilot is on the right. I'm not sure why the pilot needs both hands on the stick. Or at least it seems that way.
  18. All that nice molded in detail. Gone!
  19. Thanks, guys. Nose wheel well assembled. Cockpit area is next.
  20. Seats painted and assembled. I'll need to add some weathering to them. And these guys too. Painting them will be a challenge but I guess it'll reduce the amount of actual weathering on the seats.
  21. I don’t remember the designations, even after having read about them in a Ju-88 book a couple months ago, but the different radar antenna are different radar equipment. The radar range is different. The first iteration of this model had the antenna elements vertical. Then the Brits introduced “Window”, dropped aluminum strips. The Germans then found that rotating the elements 45 degrees, like in the second picture, lessened the effect of “Window”.
  22. Time to get started. I have some additional AM pieces on order. These probably won't get any paint 'til this evening because the 4 1/2 year old grandson only has a half day today and he'll be here this afternoon. Fun time, he has quite the imagination while playing.
  23. Now for the AM that I've collected. Decals Quinta cockpit set. Other wheels Eduard stuff. I used a set of the rudder pedals on the Fw190 that I built.
  24. I thought I'd do this since some of us, including me, hasn't built one of these. I seem to recall seeing some comments that the Dragon instructions aren't all that clear in some areas. I guess I'll find out. I've also downloaded the Revell instructions for reference too. First, the clear parts which I thought I was missing some of them, but the one set had fallen onto the floor and was 'hiding'. Other parts. There are two of each of these sprues. While preparing the first photo for upload, I noticed the exhaust ports look kinda rectangular. I'm not sure that's correct. I'll have to look into it. Decals and other bits that come with the kit. If you look closely at the area of the brass seat belts, you'll notice small bits of wire which appear to be substitutes for the plastic radar antenna elements. I haven't looked into it on the instructions yet. Although, the aircraft that I'm planning on building doesn't have radar. Dave
