Thanks a lot! The kit is about 70cm long .... Cheers Michael -
HMS Ascot was a mine hunter from the British Navy during World War I. The paddle steamer was built on 26th of January 1916 at Ailsa Shipbuilding Company. Powered by 32 paddles on both sides. She was one of 32 ships of the Racecourse-Class (also known as Ascot-Class). Die HMS Ascot was the last ship which sank at World War I. On November 10, 1918 the HMS Ascot was torpedoed by U-Boat UB-67 and sank in the North Sea. Today, the wreck is in a depth of 60m between Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tine. The kit The kit by Polish manufacturer AJM Models in scale 1/350 is a “all-round carefree package". The hull is casted in a two-piece massive resin part (upper- and lower part separately). Most of the kits part are high quality and very clean casted resin parts. Additionally you find a bigger plate of etched parts, some turned brass parts for the masts, a lasered wooden deck, decals and wire. Perfectly packed, very high quality. A lovely kit which promises lot of fun! Let's go ... At the beginning I have cleaned the two parts of the hull. I drilled two holes in the lower part and also in the wooden base of the display for adding the brass rod which will hold the ship later. A small gap between the two hull-parts needs some filler and sanding, then the two add-on parts on both sides, which will include the paddle wheels later, where glued to the hull … So far for the moment…. Next step, sanding…. Then adding first etched parts to the hull.. Cheers Micha

Hello @ all. Here are some pictures of my 1-year project ..... It is a Scania Longline on base of a Italeri Scania kit, with lot of additinal parts. The trailer (Beal Tanker Trailer) is by Revell. The Scania chassis was modified to 3-axle version, the front steering axle is replaced by metal parts. The front wheels are more-piece wheels by Modellmakershop with wide tires. The back of the chassis was covered with plastic plates on top and on the sides, as well as on the rear. The exhaust system was made completely new, made of plastic pipes and other parts which I had available. The cab was modified to the Longline version with the Resin parts from KFS which include also the full new interior parts, necessary for this upgrade. After that everything was painted in matt black with white details, then the custom made decals of the "Bad Boy" and "Punisher" were added and protected with matt clear coat. Then all the further additional parts were added....: - bull bar by KFS - etched lamps at the rear and at the spoiler - air conditioner - signal horns - light bar - 2 Michelin figures - antennas (wire) - signal lights on the roof All these parts are made by KFS and other suppliers from Modellmakershop. Finally, the Scania Longline received some dirt in grey / beige with the airbrush. The tanker trailer was made standart out of the box without any upgrades. Finally the pipes between Scania and trailer received a weathering and the complete diorama a glass box... then it will leave to Switzerland to its final destination... Cheers Michael

Hello @ all. Here are some pictures of my little monster - the Russian Tractor KIROWEZ K-700 in scale 1/72. It is a full resin kit with one fret of photo etched parts. Manufacturer: Balaton models from Hungary. The quality of the parts and the fittment is very good. The kit is highly recommended in my eyes. Painted with lifecolor dark yellow, over a layer of black primer with some dots of rusty and silver color, and a layer of hairspray. The final weathering is made with oil colors in brwon and black, the dust and dirt is made with pigments. I hope that you like the little one. Cheers - Michael

Hello, it is done.... the HORTEN HO-229 - 1/32 by Zoukei Mura is finished...! I have used the resin-wheels, the metal landing gear and the turned brass gun barrels & pitot by Zoukei Mura. The fabric seat belts are made by HGW. There was no real plane in commission so that the camouflage colors are totally up to you. I decided for a dark grey/grey-green version with a red stripe and a Hakenkreuz inside. The wings are still removable (therefore the small gap on the topside), the wings are mounted only with four clips (two on upper- two on lower side). The painting was made with colors by Lifecolor, oil colors, pigments and Valleyo clear coats (matt & glossy). ... and here we go ... I hope that you like it. The kit was a pleasure to build, made lot of fun. It is highly recommended! Cheers. Michael

elmarriachi replied to elmarriachi's topic in LSM 1/35 and Larger Work In Progress
The next steps were painting of the red stripe at the back on top- and downside, as well as the aluminium colored parts behind the nozzles which were darkened with some black pigments (smoke). After a layer of clear coat the decals were applied. All decals were included in the kit despite the Hakenkreuz which I have censored on the pictures (... Germany ...). This decal is from an other kit which I had on stock. Next step - a layer of clear coat, to save the painting and decals before the weathering.... Cheers. Michael -

Some further steps.... I have decided to give the Horten a nice camouflage color instead of the wooden surface. The dark tones are perfect for this fighter I think. I used the lifecolor colours of the "Luftwaffe-Set 2" for it, the underside has a light blue. Next steps are a bit of clear coat for the decals, then the silver at the back will be painted, and the plane will recieve a red stripe on the back I think. Hope that you like it! Cheers. Michael -

Some further steps.... the wings were covered, all the interior frames are unvisible now... I have decided to give it a camouflage color in light/dark grey.... no wooden surface. Grey with a red banner on one wing... and a used look, no brand new look. Cheers. Michael -

Thank you very much! And here are some further steps of the base of the little roadster. Now thinking about which color for the street lamp, and what I could add on the wall as details..... (steampunk background...) What do you think? Cheers. Michael -
Hello at all... it is done! The Albatros D.Va, 1/32 by Wingnut Wings is finished. Additionally I have used the wooden decals and the nails by HGW (which received several oil color paintings afterwards), the gun barrels by Master Models. For the rigging I used EZ-Line and the turnbuckles by Gaspatch Models. Hope that you like it! Cheers. Michael

The Estafette is mostly finished now, I started with the base for it. On a wooden base I glued the cobblestone part from MiniArt which I cut in the correct size. The wall is also from MiniArt, mounted and glued on the road, then with putty closed some gaps. Next steps - black primer on everything, then painting of the cobblestones in different greys, then finishing the road and painting the wall.... later street lamp and other small parts follow.... Cheers Michael -
a short update for the Albatros. The painted and weathered wings (oil color washs white and black) as well as some pigment powders later, the wings were mounted. I think the upper wing is a bit tricky and needs some dying time before going on. I have glued spot by sport ... The engine cowlings mounted, the wheels as well. The wheels are first painted in silver, then masked with maskol, then painted in grey/green. Later weathered with oil colors. Next steps - propeller, last parts, rigging ... Cheers Michael

The wheels - made of PE-part and resin - are silver painted and polished, then the tires brush-painted in dark rubber, then the wheels mounted. The bags were painted with oil colors in leather optic. Cheers Michael -

The landing gear is mounted (white metal, resin tires) and painted.... then weathered with oil color. The covers of the frame were painted in green/grey from inside. Don't wonder about the beige, I firstly painted the inside in beige by mistake, then added a lyer of green/grey over it. Won't be visible later once the outside is painted.... Cheers Michael -
The wooden effect is finished! After the dark brown (burned umbra) oil color is worked on the decals, a layer of clear coat is added to protect the colors. Then the details were painted - grey/green at the front and small details, black at the back of the fuselage. Then all the Decals were added and a further layer of matt coat added, then a cloudy layer of glossy clear coat sprayed over. The rear wings painted white, masked and painted black. The details on it follow later with Tamiya Smoke. Next steps: Painting of wings, guns, small parts on the fuselage. Cheers Michael

The finished nozzles were installed in the frame work, the upper part added and all washed with black and brown oil colors. Next - the cockpit frame work is installed and drybrushed with dark grey and silver, after being painted in black. The dashboard is a clear plastic part, the decal is cut out and glued on the back and painted in black. The displays were masked with maskol before the painting. Next step - the landing gear... painting, mounting, installing, weathering. White metal parts and resin-wheels. Cheers Michael -

Some new pictures of Her Majesty's Estafette. The body is painted and polished in several layers of silver, the frames painted in bronze and also polished. The engine hood receiveda chipping with a dark blue/grey color. Looking like being painted earlier in grey, now the metal is coming back. The dashboard is painted in black, the displays white with a silver frame. The display it self received some decals which I had on stock. The seat received some seatbelts, coming from the HK Models kit of the B17. The steering wheel and the two levers were painted with oil colors in a wooden look, with some brass details on it. TWo dark brown painted leather bags and a rolled coat (also dark leather) with brass clasps will be added over the engine hood and at the front, two big exhaust pipes in black/silver and an outside mirror follow. Cheers Michael -

After the black primer is dried I stated with Steel color from Rub'n Buff, applied with a cotton stick and polished. Clear coat (glossy) applied before the next steps. With a sponge I added dark grey color partly, then a 2nd layer of clear coat applied. NEXT STEP: The thin frames were paint brushed with copper colour and polished. The dashboard will be painted in black, the displays in white, the frames around the displays in silver and polished. Micro Krystal Klear will be applied on the displays as a kind of glass. The engine was painted in black, copper, brass and silver, then also polished. A black wash was applied for a darker look. Cheers Michael
