  1. The hull received a layer of clear coat to secure the decals before the next steps. Then - oil color (burned umbra) was applied with a brush panel by panel and worked in with a cotton stick. Next step - a layer of clear coat to secure the oil colours, then the details will be brush painted (grey-green) and the decals and markings will be applied. Cheers Michael
  2. The Mercedes Benz W123 was one of the best selling Mercedes Benz cars ever. Today it is an oldtimer which is still popular, and one of my dreamcars. Whenever I will have some money left, some space and time, then I want this car in my garage... I love it When Diopark announced this car as 1/35 scale model I had to buy this immediately.... here it is ... in my favourite color in "chocolate brown" with black interior. The interior will receive some "leather" (glossy on the seats) as well as some detail painting on the wooden parts. The underbody is finished, the exhaust will be in iron colour plus a little bit of rust. The exterieur has a first layer of brown color, which I will sand a bit and airbrush once more, before several layers of gloss coat follow. Then the chrome parts will be painted. Next steps: Painting the details of the interior, painting the exhaust, sanding & airbrushing the body once more, clear coat on the body, chrome parts. Cheers Michael

  3. This little roadster is a resin kit from manufacturer "Industria Mechanica".... and, I think it looks like a small steampunk roadster. The kit is a perfect car for doing some metal works on it.... so the mostyl used colors will be black, silver, alu, steel, brass, gold and copper for it. The first steps.... I cleaned the parts of the frame, the axles and steering, as well as the engine parts and the body. The frame is glued together, putty and sanding made a clear surface. Then it received a black color with the airbrush for the beginning. The engine is also glued together and airbrushed in Iron, before the next parts were painted with the paint brush in further colors (brass, copper and black, as well as different kind of silvers). The body received a first primer in black as base for the next metal works. Next steps: painting of the details at the engine, weathering frame and engine, "metal works" on the body. Cheers Michael
  4. The two halfes of the fuselage where glued together, little putty, little bit of sanding, then primer with a light brown / beige airbrushed over it. Then I tried the wooden decals from HGW for the very first time, cut out the panels and put all of them on the fuselage. After some time of drying I added a layer of clear coat to protect the decals, then added the nails (decals) from HGW. The protection foil on these decals damaged the wooden decals under it, I do not know why.... So I will have to do some repairings as next steps. Next steps: Repairing of the wooden decals, then clear coat, then oil colour for the final finish. Cheers Michael
  5. The engines were airbrush painted in silver / black / green from the outside. Also all small stuff is painted in its colors, before all parts were mounted to the engines. Next steps: Weathering of the engines, installing of the engines in the framework, weathering of the framework. Cheers Michael
  6. easy is the wrong word I think.... It is a little bit tricky as the parts should be at their right place also for the later fitting of the top part of the frame..... But it is ok
  7. The interior after full painting with oil colors and polished metal parts. The seatbelts come from HGW, made of fabric and PE parts. Looking much better then the PE parts from the kit, but the work is very, very "funny" The displays received some "glass" made of Crystal Clear, the rest is all painted with oil colors. And the interior testfitted in the hull. Goes together very well. Seems that no putty will be necessary here! The finished engine. Added some wiring and some tape, painted, weathered with oil color washed, dry brushing and pigments on it. Leaked oil will follow. Next step.... finishing interior and adding the rigging inside. Also the fuel tank, ammo-boxes follow before putting together the hull-halfes. Cheers Michael
  8. Some new updates for the Horten HO-229. The framework is mostly mounted and painted. The interior of the nozzles is painted, and mounted, partly pollished and ready for painting at the exterieur, before further parts will be mounted to it. The painted framework: The painted parts of the nozzles: The nozzles mounted and testfitted in the framework: Next steps - outside of the nozzles painting (Silver, black, grey/green), then further details adding at the nozzles. Best regards, Michael
  9. Nice start ... will keep watching as I am doing the same right now
  10. Hi, I was just wondering why there is no extra topic for Large scale ships? We have airplanes, armory, but no ships? There are so many 1/200 or bigger scaled ships on the market and on the way.... why not adding these too? Cheers Michael
  11. I think 229 USD is somewhere acceptable for such wonderful kit.... I ordered the late version.... but I know that the early one will follow soon ....
  12. Hello, this is my new projet.... the HORTEN HO-229 in 1/32 scale by Zoukei Mura. I am planning to present it in the wonderful looking version with wood and metal surface. The seatbelts coming from HGW, the wheels are the resin ones from Zoukei Mura, also the metal gears. I started with the framework for the interior which consists of several thin frame parts which were all connected with each other. So dry fitting is absolutly important to avoid later problems in the fitting. After that I painted the finished frame work in green/grey color and brush painted the details of it. The metal parts were silver/gold painted and polished. As next step I started with the engine nozzle and put together the first parts of it. Unfortunatley most of these parts are no more visible later. Maybe I will find a possibility to keep one engine open so that the turbine blades of at least one nozzle will remain visible. Next step - painting of the nozzle parts in silver before putting the nozzles together (and trying to keep one open and the inside visible). Cheers Michael
  13. It is done .... The next fabulous kit by Wingnut Wings is finished. It is the HANSA BRANDENBURG W.29, a long time sold out and fantastic kit full of lovely details. Additionally used were the PE-parts from HGW as well as the lasered seatlbelts from the same company. The little rigging was made with EZ-Line. More infos about the built, painting and weathering as well as more detailed pictures of the finished kit you will find on my website! Hope that you like it.... Next kit coming - Wingnut Wings' Albatros D.VI and Zoukei Mura's Horten HO-229. Cheers, Michael
  14. To be honest - I do not know .... I just saw is Sabre at Wikipedia... it has the same black paint at the nose...... Let me have a look in the instrucionts - maybe there is mentioned something
  15. Thanks a lot Who says that Germany is a province of the Netherlands? Crazy? The Netherlands are visiting Germany daily with their caravans... but that's all :) Eric's machine? What do you meant Ted? Cheers Michael
  16. Hello, Some pictures of a model which I mostly used for trying something new…. The metallic surface was done in a new way…. The kit is coming from the Czech. Company Super Hobby and is a typical short run kit. The plastic parts are mostly lower detailed and the fitting is not as good as you expect today. The kit also includes resin and pe parts, as well as decals for different versions, some in metal optic, others in 3-colour camo. Here I have used metall wax which I ordered several time ago from USA. This was applied with a lint-free cloth and polished afterwards. A layer of glossy clear coat secured the surface before the next steps. Then the red was painted, the decals added and a 2nd layer of clear coat applied, before finishing the painting with a washing of black oil colors. Also it made some troubles during the built and paint – also it was a “testing” kit… I think it is “ok” finally…. Cheers. Michael
  17. Hi Ted. mine too.. I love the Hansa... It is a n absolutly beauty.... Cheers Michael
  18. Hello, here is a new update.... What is new? The guns were finished. Gun barrels made of brass parts by Master Models, black painted and finished with "Gun metal" pigments by Tamiya. The propeller is painted in beige, taped and painted in dark brown. Then added "burned umbra" oil colors followed by a layer of clear coat. The silver and gold are painted and polished. The exhaust pipes were drilled open, painted in black inside, rusty outside (lifecolors), then added the smoke on the top of it with black pigments. And most of the further parts added..... What's missing? Further details at the rear gun, rigging, and some other small stuff and details..... and a base Here we go ... Hope you like it so far... Cheers Michael
  19. Hi Ted, clear coat without any thinner.... only a little bit of water BR Michael
  20. Hi Ted, the acrylics from Vallejo ... matt and shiny Cheers Michael
  21. Hello @ all…. The hull was painted in Tamiya XF-55 grey and Revell light blue/green from the downside. Then all the Decals were applied for the Lozenge and for the markings on the hull. The wings were painted from the downside in sand beige, then small stripes of masking tape were applied on it and the wings were painted in dark brown. After the colour was dried a further thin layer of sand beige was applied again. Then all the decals were also applied…. On the pictures you could see the bubbles on the Lozenge which is resulting from Mr. Decal softer which I used for applying the large decals on the wings. This will be gone once the decals are dry. Next steps are matt clear coat on everything, a higly thinned layer of smoke on the wings with striped maskings …. A shinly clear coat on the top of the hull (parts which were made of metal in the original), then weathering and chipping….. Cheers. Micha
  22. Hi Ted, thanks a lot! I have used only colors from Lifecolor this time.... and some oil colors for the weathering. The landing gear arms are used from scale aircraft conversions without any modifications. The wheels from Eduard Brassin. Nothing added, used as these parts came I love this kit.... made so much fun building it .... Cheers Michael
  23. Hello, finally – pictures of the finished DORNIER DO-334( „Destroyer“. This is the wonderful brand new kit in scale 1/32 by company HK Models which received additional PE-parts from Profimodeller as well as turned brass metal parts from the same supplier. The painting was made only with colors by Lifecolor, the weathering with several oil colors, Tamiya Weathering sets, pigments and otherstuff.
