  3. After watching several YouTube University videos from Panzermeister36 concerning painting German camouflage and winter white wash I thought I’d try his method of assembly and painting. So far I’m impressed. My prime color for the hulls and turret will be XF-4 (Yellow Green), XF-26 (Deep Green), XF-68 (NATO Brown) and finally XF-9 (Hull Red). The white wash will be differing shade of while mixed with tan, gray and blue sprayed over hair spray, my favorite chipping solution. Stay tuned!! Tamiya Paint Order!!! 4. As I’ve said this is a new way of assembling, installing and painting a lower hull suspension. Actually I rather like the way the hubs are turning out.
  5. Indeed it is. I’ve built this kit several years ago and loved it so that it appropriate for our local scale model club winter group build.
  6. Also primed the lower hull and suspension build up.
  7. I usually paint road wheels after they’re mounted the vehicle hull so this will s a new experience. Teaching an old dog new tricks, lol!!!
  8. Fiddly prep work to paint the road wheels.
  9. Road wheels, road wheel and more road wheel. Always do them before bed so I can sleep it off, lol!!
  10. And we’re off to the races!!! Complete step one constructing the lower hull, suspension, drive sprocket and ideal wheels!!! I’ve built this kit before so it’s like revisiting an old friend!!
  11. Tamiya 1/35 Jagdpanther Late Version build thread (1/29/26). Winter GB! The German Jagdpanther Late Version (often representing the G2 variant) was a formidable World War II tank destroyer built on the Panther chassis, featuring a powerful 88mm PaK 43/4 L/71 gun. Late versions, produced from late 1944 to 1945, included features like a one-piece gun barrel, simplified engine deck, and sometimes lacked Zimmerit coating It served on the Eastern and Western Fronts. During the last stages of the war, limited German production resulted in small production numbers, shortage of spare parts, and shortened crew training periods of increasingly young operators.
  12. Thanks. I was pretty pleased with both the post and pre shading on the Challenger. Thanks for the heads up on the light. I can always repaint it flat black.
  13. On the Challenger I sprayed Tamiya khaki to post shade. It blended well with the top coat.
  14. Did a bit of post shading before applying a coat of satin varnish in preparation to install decals!! Also started painting some stowage items.
  15. A little rust effects on the rear auxiliary fuel tanks, some panel lining plus I’ve been using my AK fine tip acrylic markers on hand rails, hinges etc. Adding a bit of stowage this morning!!
  16. Turret weathering before top coating with satin varnish to seal the paint layer.
  17. The paint shop crew laid down the first color coat of XF-59 Desert Yellow!! Love the color!!
