  1. Thanks Carl. About time to get back to it isn't it?
  2. Completed and ready for your perusal. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/19443-cavalier-f-51-2-completed/
  3. I used the Revell kit for this build. I scratch built the fin extension and rear cockpit (except for the seat). As I didn't have a chisel blade prop I used a left over Hasegawa Aero Products prop which I trimmed to shape. Since this particular a/c, which served with the Salvadorian AF, was returned to the US civilian market, I decided to build it as it was at a particular point in time when it had the extra underwing racks and wing tip tanks. Very pretty for the air show circuit I think. I painted the camo with Xtracolor, which is a gloss paint, to try to match the way it looked before the extra racks and tip tanks were removed since I had those parts left over from my first Halberd Cavalier F-51 build. The only decals needed were the red fuel filler caps and the N number under the tail (from my decal stash). I hope you like it. PLEASE REMEMBER to click on the 1st photo to have better resolution and cleared pictures. THANKS!
  4. Thank you Gaz. I hope to have it all done in a day or two.
  5. That's good! Maybe there will be a decent demand for it.
  6. Looks good Tim. Would you consider doing a F4U-5N conversion for the Trumpeter F4U-4? That would be outstanding.
  7. Two interesting reads. (100 hour war is a book. Soccer War is a 8 page PDF.) https://www.flightjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/The-Soccer-War.pdf Honduran Corsairs vs El Salvador Mustangs
  8. Painting with Xtracolor coming along well.
  9. Racks added. (Click on the photo for a sharper image.)
  10. Wing tip tanks attached. Sure does give it a different look!. After puttying the join lines and getting that cleaned up I can proceed with the upper surfaces camo. Fingers crossed I don't break anything!!!
  11. Thank you Phil! I agree, it will be a standout for sure!
  12. Sure would be Peter! The repair looks okay I'm pleased to say. Now I can proceed with painting this mother (with my fingers and toes crossed there will be no more foul ups.) 🙄
  13. I hope we will be able to find what we need sooner than later. Fingers crossed. (I know Biggtim is working on remastering a -2 night fighter conversion so maybe someone will come up with the ones we want too.)
  14. I'd like to convert my Trumpeter -4 to a -5 or -5N (optimally my Tamiya -1D if possible). I'm wondering if there's a conversion out there I could pick up. Thanks for the help!
  15. If it's not one thing then it's something else! While I was spraying some gray primer I knocked the fin extension off on one of my lights. Just another high cuss factor thing.
  16. Personally I could do without ANY cuss factors but if we have to have 'em I'd prefer the low variant. LOL
  17. It's coming along but getting the wings to fit the fuselage has been a big problem. Something wasn't "right" and I had to do a lot of trimming and test fitting to finally get the wings attached. High cuss factor at times!!! 🤪
  18. Making some nice progress so far. I think the fin extension will work out okay.
  19. LOL Carl! Fingers crossed the tail extension works out okay. The props are done and installed in the spinner since they looked okay.
  20. I have no doubt you will get it figured out.
